Autarch is a greek word and I'd say with the emphasis on proper cultural representation for Dawntrail (the most obvious parallel being retiring New World for Tural) that it was just a term retired in place for one that fits the culture we're shown better. The explanation is probably even the same as the proper name of the continent, that being that the terms "New World" and "Autarch" were just terms that the cultures of the Three Great Continents used for ease of remembrance, use, and a lack of greater cultural knowledge for a society that was at most a subject of novelty for people who never interacted with it directly.

The Hydaelark and Zodelyn arc is over but we still exist in that world with the characters introduced and the situations presented. If there are still ascians running around (I believe Deudalaphon, Halmarut, Pashtarot, and Altima) they are probably not idle. They would have been performing duties as assigned and then trying to find purpose after Emet-Selch, Elidibus, and Lahabrea suddenly stopped answering their voicemail. I actually hope she is and we can just integrate one or more of them into the world in a non adversarial role.

I miss them using the term "Autarch" because it has deep implications in inspiration from Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun, in which a two headed, long lived man named Typhon sat a throne and wished to claim the title of Autarch, he who rules himself. I won't spoil the book, but everything in the lore related to them (until recent changes) takes heavy inspiration from that story, which was very very cool. It also takes place in Central America and has Ascians, yes, literally spelled that way. Typhon's 2nd head was also shrouded like Galool Ja Ja's, and a Sun-based religion revolved around a historical figure called the Conciliator. The floating thing above Heritage Found too is reminiscent of a scene late in the story. High and low tech in conjunction. Past and future. I'm hype for Dawntrail. I hope they haven't fully divested of the Autarch motif because to rule oneself is the most difficult thing.

YES I've been waiting for your vid to pop up! Re: Wuk Lamat's excitedness -- Either they're playing into her 'shonen protag' trope energy, which is silly but we don't have a character like that, so I'm OK with it. Or we go in depth and she's just parroting back what she THINKS she wants? Or what she thinks she has to do? I feel like we got a glimpse at her in 6.55 being really unsure of herself, and this could just be her trying to psyche herself up. I prefer the latter. There was also a snippet of a quest reveled in the live letter when showing off a new feature (putting /emotes in the quest list when you need them) and the quest objective was to psyche her up. I feel like Wuk is realllly unsure and unsteady of herself, so her default IM GONNA BE THE HOKAGE might just be a result of that. But I could also be reading too much into it :D -- Also, I don't think she's going to be the Dawnservant, either! Even if we win, she might give it to her brother -- the Mamool Ja brother.

I think so too. It's pretty evident in 6.55 when she's trying to play up this tough "I'm not afraid of anything, let's kill some monsters" persona, while she's hiding the fact her hand is shaking after the big bird comes to attack us. I mean I really HOPE that the latter is the case, but I haven't been disappointed by any recent characters, so I'm optimistic.

Honestly I’m getting tired of people saying Wuk Lamat isn’t worthy because OBVIOUSLY SHE ISN’T WORTHY, it’s her story and she will develop as the story goes on. Immediately judging her and brushing her off for her immaturity is also ignoring the signs we’ve seen of her fear in the face of danger, her freezing up, her shaking hands-we’ve already been shown that there’s more to her than her brashness and silliness. We’re going to learn so much about her and help her grow on this journey together and I for one am looking forward to it. I want to see her grow, I want to learn about her determination, I want to understand her fear, and I want to help her overcome her trials. Whether that leads to the throne or not is really irrelevant, as she may even discover the throne isn’t for her.

I for one enjoy that Wuk Lamat seems naive or innocent. This is her own hero's journey, and we , as the WoL are here to assist her in that particular journey. Yes, it sounds like Naruto, and Bleach, however, I take it as something that specific to the culture and fiction of culture. Back to Wuk Lamat, perhaps, on this journey, she will introspect, perhaps that will be through a failure, that she learns a great deal from, that will cause her to reassess why she wishes to ascend the throne. Can't wait to see where this goes.

One thing about Wuk Lamat's "I'm gonna be hokage!" moment: Throughout 6.55 we got a few glimpses into Wuk's character as a whole. She passes off an aura of lightheartedness, boisterousness and confidence, but during a few quick moments, we also see something beneath that confidence. During our hunt, Wuk being shocked by the Giant Colibri and then after the fight, shaking while loudly proclaiming "I had barely limbered up!". After that, during our lunch, she boldly reaches for the spicy food, only to have to hold back her tears when she realizes the spice was too much for her to handle. These glimpses of her character might be hinting that, beneath the confident facade, she might be incredibly anxious and insecure of her capabilities. So if we take that into account, her repeating "I'm gonna be dawn servant!" over and over during this trailer might just be her gaslighting herself, trying to push down her own fears and insecurities. The good old "If I repeat it enough times, then maybe I can convince myself that I can actually do this".

What I find interesting about the Void questline that I don't think many realize, is that it probably wouldn't have raised to a world-ending threat unless we arrived and starting poking about. By Golbez's admission, it would've taken him much longer to enact his plan had we not come through with our bountiful aether and a portal to the other side. We took a big risk and actually endangered the Source by doing what we did, for a bit of adventure (initially at least, we of course had better reasons once we learned of azdaja's plight and the truth behind golbez/zero). Ultimately it ended well, providing good progress in Y'shtolas studies, it set up potential progress for the 13th to stabilize and opens up the potential to stabilize the remaining shards. But it makes me wonder if the WoL is going to become a bit of a force of nature that is as dangerous as they are helpful wherever they go. I think it'd be fun to have the WoL be a bit controversial, that they keep sticking their finger in pies it doesn't belong and it's causing problems, making us a bit more morally grey than before.

@closotezuka Thing is though is that our actions SHOULD have consequences. Yes we are heroes and yes we do vanquish evil buuuuut we also are at the end of the day, an adventurer. Even Zenos kinda saw through that and understood that from the outside we involve ourselves in things that have nothing to do with us and fight beings just FOR FUN. Like we are the WoL. We play xiv FOR FUN. We fight gods and monsters and go up against armies FOR FUN. That's actually terrifying and I think addressing that in-game isn't a stretch. @@closotezuka I know morally grey got a bad wrap from Wow, but wow wasnt even morally grey at that point. By your example it was just hospital burning and trying to say "its for the greater good!" after the fact. I think we've already seen the first of this as per our void excursion. We hastened Golbez's plan and did make the Void threat in the background go from passive and slowburning, to immediate and potentially ending the source. Who's to say we aren't going to be unhousing horrors beyond comprehension in the new world, yknow? The new worlds been at peace for decades, and suddenly all that shit in the trailer is happening. You cant tell me that its not going to be at least partially our fault for unleashing all that. Plus to make it good, it shouldn't just focus on death tolls, but the damage culturally, and emotionally to the local, summoning and slaying their local deities and legends and such. Ruminating on if there could've been a better way rather than going in guns blazing, unga bunga style. The WoL is sort of a force of nature now sorta aimless, just going where the wind blows. I hope we don't remain perfect lawful good forever, but I don't wanna be any sort of direct evil of course.

That ending shot in EW of them and the party walking away from each other was the passing of the torch. They wont completely betray that. It seems more likely that we will get lore that is based on the rammifications of the ascians former plots, not that we will see them as villains/grey figures literally again. That is also why the first line of the trailer is saying that we're not saving the world again. It's not the kind of story they want to tell right now, and for good reason. Not that there wont be big implications for the world after what happens in DT, but... yeah.

Considering that they hired consultants of that background and voice acting of people from that background its no wonder that Wuk Lamat sounds like that. Both in english and in japanese. the allagans tho lived similarly to the ancients they increased their lifespans tenfold thru usage of their technology an they lived pretty carefree for the most part oblivious to the primals or disdain of the people they conquered and i guess you could say their cloning is a form of immortality in of itself as it meant they could be reborn in the same vessel they had prior to facing death. their advanced ways of life could be perceived as god like to primitive and ancient societies as well because they tamed beasts, captured them , and also made chimera's out of their flesh as well as tamed and captured beings which people referred to as their "gods" so maybe to them they took that as a sign that the allagans were like unto gods because they could command and tame them.

Don't forget Allag was built by Emet-Selch only to sow chaos and destruction. And as far as we know, the Allagans have never set foot on the New World. IIRC, the devs said Solution 9 is going to be our secondary player hub like Mod Dhona, Idyllshire, Rhalgr's Reach, Eulmore, and Radz-at-Han were. Aka, the hub where Rowena sets up a branch of the House of Splendors (aka, the Tome shop).

alima is still alive this was already stated by the developers who were asked about the masks gaius had on his belt they said that the overlords were not killed by gaius which is very weird as well because Gaius describes exactly how we killed ascians back in the empty when returning alphinaud's empty body to us he said "drag each and every one into the light and then put them to the sword." so basically paraphrasing a "blade of light" which is what we used on nabrialis but maybe gaius' just misinterpreted what his spy within mor dhona had meant an what he really used was just garlean technology to kill their host bodies instead of their actual souls.

About the fallout from the Final Days: It was mentioned in the patches but more like a side information when Thancred appeared like "Oh yeah I have my hands full because now that we dont have a mutual threat we can have war with each other again lol" or smaller side stories in the main story like the orphans...but the game makes it very clear that those problems arent ours to deal with - we saved the world how much more do we have to help? I think they have done it in a good way otherwise WoL would have to be in "I am responsible for the world" 24/7. I do hope they show more fallout in a subtle way like we have so far (and probably none in the new world cus the finals days didnt reach there afaik). Also I agree with you when it comes to Wuk Lamat - I find her funny but a leader? Hell no, she is way to immature - she reminds me a lot of Lyse, so I expect the same character growth but I do not believe she will become Dawnservant my bet is on Zoraal Ja, the blue Mamool Ja you see in the trailer. My theory on the people of solution 9: as we know the Karellians are a dead nation we met in ultima thule...I do wonder if something of their technology made its way to our planet similar to Omega or Midgardsommr thus helping the people from the new world back then to avoid a certain calamity (at least thats what it looks like in the trailer as I think the girl at the end had to make sacrifices to save her people by creating and entering Solution 9) or the technology just looks the same by accident xD Also I dont think we will see Ascians this Expansion simply cus it was made very clear that we are DONE with that era - most Ascians were killed off screen and if I remember correctly last we have seen Pashtarot he was a blond male hyur (unless they retcon that one too lol)

I have a theory on what the Golden city is. It's a theory of mine with very loose threads and I wouldn't be surprised if its debunked by whatever details I might have missed playing through the game. I have a sinking suspicion that the Golden City is a large chunk collection of Amaurot. The real Amaruot and below are my flimsy reasons why I believe so. First. In the tempest we see physical pieces of the actual city buried beneath the sands and stones of the zone sunken underneath the ocean before we arrive via Bismark's help. Later we learn from what I understand that Anamnesis Anyder is a -physical- ruin of the old city and not a part of Emet-selch's Aetherical imitation. Second. Friends and I have theorized the possibility of more pieces of the ruins could be seen in the other shards and I also remembered that the geography between the shards are supposedly similar if we're to compare the 1st and the Source. We find the pieces of Amaurot somewhere south of Kholusia which is believed to be similar to La Noscea. South to more South west of La Noscea is the New World or at least little bits of the land shrouded by clouds on the new world map we were given at the end of the MSQ and if the Golden city is inferred to be somewhere in their lands... I felt there was some connection if not one of the thinnest of straws so far. Third and probably the tiniest and most thinnest of the straws I could draw here, when we battle Elidibus for the 4th time in Pandaemonium, the arena battle in clearly looks to be the meeting room for the Convocation. Maybe the color choice is most likely for the theme of the fight, Elidibus using Light and Dark magic... but couldn't help but notice the entire surroundings being very bright, shiny and gold. Also if you look outside the windows of said arena, no surprise that it takes place within the city of Amaurot with the tiniest glimpse of it in its hayday. Looking at the golden details and other decorations within the room had me thinking there was a chance the city was much more vibrant and golden accents to it. Lastly, one could say the Amaurot in the tempest didn't appear very vibrant or shiny when we went to visit it but.. I mean it -is- deep under the ocean. Also when entering some of the buildings in the city or the two Duties involved in it, they had plenty of golden designs in their structure of their rooms and hallways. As to WHY the Golden City would be a big chunk of Amarout? no idea... but I think there's still much to learn from the ancients and there are still some Ascians out there as was just mentioned. Who knows, a collection of ruins still pretty intact like the Anyder, perhaps a group of people or multiple groups of people over the years since the sundering could have used/repurposed it for their own needs. Just a dumb theory.

Enigmatic Maiden being Pashtarot would explain why Emet was keeping tabs on her but he likely rejected her plan because it was worse than getting Sundered. Now they're looking to re-take the world once the Final Days have been averted. It was basically a control rod for the power source in the city. I dunno, they 'key' with its goblet shape and the City of Gold connection just made me think of it.

I believe it's going to be an older prediction you made, where people trying to survive their shard merging with the source tried to escape it. The golden gate looks Allegan made, with it's rough look with lines of light, but invader's tech is an entirely different design. So is their armor and heavy accent with purple. It reminds me of lightning crystals (like you talked about in your older video). They also emerge from a giant ball of energy, so it's either a delayed invasion, with time dilation between the shard, a coincidence for similar reasons, or the City of Gold was the key to activate the gate. It could also be my crackpot theory, where they're actually from the same timeline as Graha originally, where the 8th calamaty happened, and black rose was released. They could be seeing the prosperity of our timeline and decided to invade (ala Terra v Gaia from 9(?) I believe). Though there is something I keep coming back to in my head: If they're willing to show us this much, what are they keeping close to their chest?

The way I dealt with the Final Days was by leveling the Dark Knight after I hit the end of the MSQ. It gave my character a chance to melt the hell down and then heal. Perfect transition.

I'm firmly in the camp of "I'm done with the ancient world for a bit, let's explore the other time periods and civs between The Unsundered World and now please?" Maybe letting the Ascians rest a bit will give them a chance to be fresh and new and exciting when we see them again. I'd personally like to see some of them come back as evil and some as good, or even do a heel-face turn like Nero did and HELP US. Their god is dead for good, so is his opposite. The Final Days are over for good. The whole reason they made Zodiark is gone. I get that some of them would be like "now we can return the world to the way it was before and we won't suffer the same catastrophe!" while others could counter with "this world is theirs now, their strength is clearly different but superior to our own, there's no point in returning to the past."

My hope is that the circle gate is the PATHWAY to the city of gold. Maybe it's a time machine or an alternate reality doorway, but Solution 9 is the gateway, because giving away Solution 9 as the city of gold feels way too easy and I hope they wouldn't do that.

2 heads, 2 strong conflicting personalities. I suppose 1 needs to be the dominant head to navigate life properly. The 2nd head would either have a certain specialty, or used in combat.

To be honest, i don't think we know about their longevity, they could be closer to the Vierra than the let's say, the miquo'te. Keep in mind that Fran from the twelve appear to be canonically still alive (in opera omnia(rip) Thancred remember meeting her)
