in maiev's campaign, she sees runes carved into the walls of the tomb of sargeras that tell of the journey of Gul'dan. as the player, we see flashbacks of guldan in the tomb, which eventually lead to his death

cory probably because the millenials do what they do and chit on games like they did with mass effect so nobody wants to play them. i'm just getting around to playing WC3 Reforged and for reference material is great. Had to stop half way through because its white noise havent got that far in game and prob why the millenials didnt want to watch it either too busy playing jrpg my little pony games.

This is much better...slightly slower and easier to absorb. Great job and thank you so much for making it!

All of warcraft lore originated from an orc getting foolishly catfished by a demon pretending to be his wife.

Aaaah, the Diablo soundtrack is a nice touch

this is the type of bed time story that I can sleep

God but i freaking LOVED this story and characters as a kid. I couldn't get enough of them. Everyone was amazing, but I especially admired Arthas who actually started off as a sole character I hated for his annoying on-the-nose good-guyness, but very soon he became ruthless, shady, and I cheered. And I loved his sarcastic quips, especially as a Death Knight. God, did he look freaking cool as a Death Knight. But I was really sad when he became Lich King - in my eyes, he was devoured by Ner'Zul and lost his self. I also really liked Maev for being, frankly, comically insane, and Kael, who was the most sympathetic character in my opinion - I prefer to ignore whatever happened to him in WOW tbh

Honestly, thank you. I find that any lore videos can be overbearing, but thru the use of visual aid (HS cards are a nice touch btw) that it’s more digestible and I can understand the main lore points from previous games/expansions. Keep it up!

I don’t even care about the lore post Wrath, but I will be listening to your series anyway because they’re so well made! Thank you for these!

I love how you're using the Hearthstone cards for this!

This video is SO well made and it explains the events pretty well. My only gripe is the lack of emphasis on Uther’s death as he was betrayed by Arthas his pupil. Also Grom Hellscream’s death. Grom saved the entire orc portion of the Horde from being slaves to a demon and thus saved the world.

Damn there is so much love and hard work in this animation. I love it! Thanks for your work! :)

This videos deserves more views. Best recaps so far. Simplified and much more easy to understand without being too complicated. Hope you can do more of these recaps regarding Warcraft story. Really looking foward to it. ^^

Warcraft has such a deep story its crazy!

One important point that you didn't include is that Illidan claiming the Skull of Gul'dan was vital to the Burning Legion's defeat, and he did so based on a hint from Arthas. This is an important point, because since Arthas is loyal to the Lich King it strongly suggests that the Lich King wanted the Legion to be defeated so that he could rule later.

This should have a lot more views. Awesome recap, thanks!

I have spent weeks looking for something like this. I'm a new WoW player because my mate got me into it. I always felt the world was super interesting but I'm not reading quest dialogue. This is exactly the type of video I needed to help me get up to date on the lore. Right! With all the expansions and being able to skip almost everything because of Chromie time, videos are so key for any new players who want to actually know the story behind what's going on when they hit BFA. The cards were definitely helpful, even for someone who's played since December of 2004. Great job!

I think you did an amazing job keeping needed some details that are needed to new people...i have played 2& 3 but not expansion of 2....I'm not into wow yet cause i think it would take years to keep up with lores events and more

Qrchimonde was an "summoned unit". Those recieve a lotta damage from wisps detonations. So much wisps detonating at the same time on he was kind of a big deal.

it was a bold choice from the author, but i think they made it work

Kael didn't really snitch on Maiev as he had no knowledge of her lie and he was just trying to be supportive to everyone. He likely assumed Maiev had just given up easily on Tyrande and he was probably curious about the relationship between those 2 brothers. He heard Malfurion sort of repeating the lie that Maiev told, but he never heard Maiev's lie himself. For all he knew, Maiev might have given Malfurion the exact same report that he would have, but Malfurion could have come to his own hasty conclusion about the matter. It wasn't until Malfurion interrupted him that he knew a lie had been told.

if u want to play wow i think both and classic and retail are good. 2020 wow gets you caught up with the story fairly fast and classic doesnt really have a story- it's more of an experience. if u want a faster game that has more story driven content- play 2020 wow. if u want a slow burn atmospheric social and mechanical grind, play classic.

now i know king arthas as a human and get the word to save humanity but hes change by hes sword and become one of darkness and death knight of lich king now i know arthas and lich king its not one so before arthas use the lich king armor hes a death knight and after he use the lich king armor and now hes a lich king of the warcraft 3 frozen throne hes the king im waiting for the next story and episode i love store of warcraft please developer add story and improving texture of the game we love it

Because in these 10,000 years she made guarding Illidan her ultimate life goal. When he left, she left to chase him at all costs. Life without being able to guard Illidan seemed useless and empty to her.

The whole Rexxar plot line is just "Jaina being incredibly plot stupid" and Rexxar carrying the horde to victory. It is probably the worst story line out of em all. Like no competition.

WC3 was just.... the supreme part of lore in WC-History. WoW was good until Mists of Pandaria IMO, then it got worse and worse. But that was the time Metzen left and I just felt that.

this is a fair take. i feel like most people would argue WoD as not being great (it's certainly a mess lore wise). and i dont think WoW's story ever gets as well written or as well paced as Warcraft 3's

u've gotta do the story of what happens after frozen throne including that bonus campaign at the end of frozen throne if there isn't one. I don't know if u remember this, but I played through all warcraft 1,2,3 and frozen throne until blizzard throws its evil curve blade at its players. From being a single-player version it was turned into MMORPG that requires some sort of subscription/buying top-up cards that had to have an active internet connection. During that time not most countries had the net available to domestic users, so we had no choice than to leave the warcraft world. So much has happened since then, the story went far beyond. I just had a shock when I've learned very recently that the lich king aka death knight/prince Arthas has died.

i released some WoW lore vids about classic and BC which follow up on the story of WC3. if you're interested in the founding of durotar story (the Rexxar solo campaign that was released in chunks) Nobbel87's "Story of Rexxar" covers it in more detail than what i did.

kinda love warcraft lore until wrath of the lich king. its really in core about individual beings in nature cant be satisfied or be in peace with their current status, and swayed towards path to damnation. while few reconcile mayhaps in contempt, they can overcome their own difficult circumstance, and working towards a struggle peace.

Lore just never made sense to me after WC3 ROC and Frozen Throne. I feel like it got so bloated and confusing.
