Can't express in words how beautiful this hymn is, especially this arrangement, and how much God's love shines through it.

My most favourite hymn as a Choirboy @ St. Mary’s, Eastry Kent 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 to be sung at my final service here in California. Praise the Lord- thank you for the gift of my life 1952 -

Yes ... basically our family's hymn, and just wonderful to hear in various spots when away from home. A very inspiring and reassuring hymn.

My music teacher used to sing this in church service, with the most beautiful and melliflous voice I have ever heard!

Truly one of the most beautiful and inspirational hymns ever. The scenes of natural beauty were perfect.

Meghan and Harry did, and I remembered this hymn that I had sung countless times at school, it all came back to me, it was probably my favourite!

Sung at almost every family wedding, christening, funeral or memorial service in the past almost 50 years -- including mine. I watched Harry and Meghan's wedding, and when the intro began I immediately called my husband and said, "Hey! Guess who has good taste and appreciation for the family hymn?" ... and had him listen over the phone for a verse or so. It will be sung at my daughter's wedding this fall, in '22. ... really nice arrangement by Barry Rose, and a lovely performance by St. Alban's Choir.

This hymn is so beautiful. It remains of being in a rested lawn and creek nearby. So peaceful

My first time hearing this song, was doing Harry and Meghan's wedding. Believe me , since them I just love it.

Jan Struther who wrote these lyrics ,also wrote the novel: Mrs Miniver(about the Dunkirk Evacuation)

Ummmm ... I'm pretty sure that what you hear singing the descant are several boy sopranos. There might be, of course, some girls and women in St. Alban's Cathedral choir, however, traditionally these Anglican choirs are boys and men. It's the soprano tones I'm hearing that are pure boy soprano (or perhaps young girl(s) ... maybe), a very noticeable quality and timbre. I'm not going to check this with the choirmaster or another St. Alban's rep, as it makes me fall down rabbit holes on YT, as well as Google, and before I know it, hours have passed by. ... gah! I so agree with you that the sound of this choir is lovely.

@@MarkJoseph81 -- oh, my ... I hope for you that you can release that image, and not allow your disappointment to overshadow the beauty from these choirs. Most of the music was written for the church -- just like the majority of music composed prior to the 19th C. There is so much gorgeous music in which to hear those specific, v v pure and rare tones, a temporary sound for any boy singer, as when their voices change (onset of or v early puberty), it's gone forever. Below -- link to a brief vid that actually shows you the boys, the soloists and non. Also -- if you've ever seen any of the Brit royal weddings, that's the type of choir Westminster and St. Paul's in London have for the songs and hymns. Lord of All Hopefulness was sung at Harry & Meghan's wedding in 2018 by the choir and the congregation ... it was also sung at mine in 1990 -- for every wedding, funeral, christening, and other milestones ever at church for my entire family over four generations.
