Jamar knows wassup with puff. Jamar is from New Rochelle and puff came up in near by Mount vernon around the same time. They damn near come from the same industry circle . Notice uptown was called uptown but they signed people from that area north of the bronx, yonkers, new rochelle, mount vernon. I think people should look into what happened to puff after he got let go from uptown. Normally that would be it for any exec after being fired from andre harell one of the more powerful black execs but all of a sudden diddy popped up with his own label (bad boy) through Arista. Remember Jamar said he'd do anything to get on and that was around the time the weird rumors started.

If you watch this documentary called *"Wrecking Shop in Brooklyn"* that's the era of HipHop Dance Lord Jamar is referring to. Big Daddy Kane's background dancers, EPMD's background dancers, Def Jef, Divine Styler, RedHead Kingpin... that's the era and aesthetics he's trying to articulate. If you watch old rap videos when MtvRaps first came out, *nearly EVERY* Rap video (aside from L.A. West Coast Gangster rap scene) had dancers in them. This is circa mid-late 80's. That's the era that paved the way for Pharcyde and Black Eyed Peas. Let it be known, if you watch early Brand Nubian videos Lord Jamar and the rest of them were doing those same moves.

Birdman takes that crown actually and I hate both of them equally tbh but he got a better deal and made way more artists & helped way more artists without a shred of talent himself lmao. Not even looks, fashion, voice, nothing. Puff at least got something going for him besides just the money and sounded somewhat decent on songs, go listen to Birdman rap lmao straight garbage don't even sound good no matter who writes for him either, but he got the best deals for Cash Money and even though he fuck his artists over they all dont end up dead or completely broke like the few artists Puff put on and his main artists he's had at Cash Money are all still alive and got more money than all of Puffs artists, only one even still doing something in life is Mase & The Lox but Lox was more Ruff Ryder than Bad Boy tbh. Birdman is underrated when it comes to this topic though he's definitely overlooked cuz he hella wack but he is good at keeping Cash Money successful since the early to mid 90s all the way til recent years can't say that for Bad Boy let alone most record labels in general.

P Diddy and his shiny suit trend he brought ino rap music was one of the biggest factors that destroyed the authentic classic east coast type of Hip Hop. That's why the west coast dominated the mid 90s. Yes you still had some dope lyrical east coast rappers continually dominating the mid 90s like NAS, BIGGIE, WU TANG CLAN, TREACH, and BUSTA RHYMES etc. But PUFFY and his shiny suit trend watered down the overall east coast rap landscape and made it corny and pop. It took a raw, authentic, ferocious, east coast rappers with street credit like DMX to come out in the late 90s to finally shut down all that PUFFY shiny suit BS.

I probably would have been more of a BIGGIE fan had he not been corrupted by PUFFY to be on that shiny suit jiggy CRAP and had more substance in his RAPS. I was more of a TUPAC fan because his raps was more relatable and had substance from the heart. But even TUPAC became more corrupted when he sighed to SUGE KNIGHT'S DEATH ROW RECORDS when he was locked up and feeling betrayed at a vulnerable position in his career. I was never a fan of SUGE KNIGHT or PUFFY. Especially PUFFY. I always seen through PUFFY'S fake mask. A devil in the flesh. PUFFY ruined the east coast classic Hip Hop Music.

I've never been more disappointed in a person being a Chatty Patty than I am with Lord Jamar. After this, I can imagine cleaning up the interrogation room after Lord Jamar leaves and seeing a half-finished bucket of KFC and a few empty cans of $.99 ice teas.

Lord Jamar is on point. Puffy got cocky and overstepped when he worked at Uptown Records and that’s why Andre Harell fired him. That’s when he created Bad Boy Records
