thanks. i didnt manage to to do think with the aftercast as weapon stow cancel the skill and its get a 3 sec cd. so if i use healing well and f5 i cancel the skill and not getting the benefit of the healing. any help?

Living Story Season 3 Episode 3: Melee

I use that delay casting thing on thief with pistol whip, jump as I'm activating it to get a quick daze out and bait out their movement and then relocate my position to hit him with the damage. You can also use it just out of range of an enemy then quickly walk up to them (as long as you are close enough) to surprise em with the damage, basically skipping the daze. (The Mes Shield 4 is the best use of it I've seen though) Great vid btw.

In 2016, I watched this and it completely changed how I played mesmer. I was a scrub bronze with a hot trash build from meta-battle. After this, I pushed to gold and did a 1v3 against 2 diamonds and a mithril.

I knew about all of them but the last one. I think that one's really going to help me out. Thanks!

any one gets the healing well part of the after cast trick? so he insists that you use "continuum split-> healing well-> stow or swap weapon on the after cast -> continuum rift to reverse back -> healing well", and after this order you can make 2 immediate heal? I think if just use "continuum split-> healing well-> continuum rift-> healing well" this will also heal twice. what does he mean by immediately? and he also says that if use the regular order which I just mentioned without any after cast stow trick, the well you have to wait for the full cd? I am do confused.

is there a druid build that can counter this condi mesmer helseth played ?

You can weapon swap at the same time as the shatter + phase retreat combo to get the geomancy + doom procs off all at once while still getting that extra shatter

So thief sword 2 is a skill that teleports you to your foe and when you activate it again it teleports you back to your original location. Before thief used to be able to cancel the 2nd skill allowing them to chain them together to chase foes and stuff. But anet patch it cuz reasons... feelsbadman

For a pro Mesmer, I can't believe you didn't know about the double cast skills being interrupted by jump. Quantify has been using it on chrono sword 4, for tanking raids...almost since raids came out.

To say, "this exploit is in the game since launch and they didn't change it!!" Is pretty much retarded. You don't decide what an exploit or bug is and what isn't. Anet can easily decide this to be an actual game mechanic(which they probably already did), this simply raises the skill bar, and every player complaining about this is just too lazy to learn a mechanic or is just bad at the game, period. People get salty when they lose games, it's not just in Gw2. And when salty people decide to share things, they spread their salt all over the internet. Things like, "the game is dying anyways" or "I always play against the same people, player population so low." are classics. The game is just the game, and bugs and mechanics are just that. They can't contribute to toxicity. People however, they can be toxic, they can spread misinformation, be overall negative about the game and be dismissing any criticism, forcing their negative views on everyone. What really drives players away from the game are people, be it in real life or the game. No one came to the conclusion that a game sucks after playing it for 2-3 years. I mean how stupid do you have to be to waste your time with a game you don't like for years! No one should take this seriously. Either you realized you haven't played the game correctly or you just suck at it really hard and don't want to accept it. Most "toxic" players are usually just way too focused on their ego to see that they could actually be at fault. And it gets really smelly when people start pulling out "facts" out of their ass that really no one can know, because Anet doesn't share this information.

ik what the phantasm does im asking if he delays the phantasm spawn so when ppl see you cast shield4 and they dodge the delayed phantasm will hit them if they dont have any other evade to use.

He explained clearly, that clones are so important to the build, and needing 2 up to start a combo was such a big deal. If you can stop one of the first clones, then they are at a major disadvantage.

If you ask arena net balance team about the first trick, they will probably tell you that it is actually a bug ... They did that with thief's heart seeker trick for example. You know the one you rotate your camera to look down from above so that it shortens the distance you jump. Anet called that a bug that needs to be fixed xD These kinds of little tricks are what is good about this game's pvp but anet's balance team probably isn't even compatible with a regular pvp player so they don't even know about these probably. If not, then they don't know what's good for this game

Another reason why gw2 pvp sucks. Jumping and stalling the double mechanics on one skill is basically the same as increasing casttime. Changing the core characteristics (attributes like casttime) without the need of ingame mechanics like boons should never be a thing in any competitive game. You are basically advertising an exploit.

The running, jumping and gliding around during the explanations really annoys the hell out of me. Gonna ask Malferian if he saw this video and let him tell me what those tricks are. Can't watch more than 3min of this jumping around.

Wow so many people have never seen Helseth stream or play because he isn't truly arrogant etc. it's a "character" and joke that he plays quite well and is actually hilarious. As far as the "exploits" these are the deep mechanics that differentiate between esl players and casual platinum. Knowing not only your stuff but also other classes deep mechanics make you a better player. Stop being so salty for being tier gold when you think you are "god mode".

They should take they money back from you for all these exploits and kick you out of esl, such a loser way to win.

/sigh Everyone at high level uses animation canceling and all these tricks. The only one that I was the only one who used was the extra shater on phase retreat. So I should be kicked out of ESL because I shattered fast? Knowing how the mechanics of a game work and using them in every situation happens in every game. Even league of legends has the same stuff. Are you for real bro? Each of these things are all possible due to mechanics WITHIN THE GAME. They do not involve hacking, or any other external thing like that. This means that everything that Helseth is doing is within the terms of service of Guild Wars 2. If the devs didn't want this in there they would patch it. You can't punish the players for playing as efficiently as possible using mechanics available in the game. While we're at it why don't we ban every pro smash bros player for wavedashing or League players for animation canceling.
