Guys he's the Sporting Director, that is his job, he assess every play that comes in or out. He gives his input. I bet for a fact Lorch isnt the only one. That he gave input on. That is his Job. Besides all teams prefer having younger players. Thats not a new thing.

Sometimes managers can make decisions that deviate from philosophy of the team. SD has to make sure that couch decisions still align with strategy agreed with top management

Looking at how Lorch is struggling with the system, Flemming is correct. To answer your question, the SD has a final say on getting and releasing players. If the SD doesn't see the player fitting into the system he has every right to reject the player.

This SD is interfering with coach's job , coach is the one who understands systems and players required for that system. Sundowns will leave to regret.
