Loose Intuitive Mixed Media ~ Watercolor & Spray Ink ~ Out Of The Ahes

Join me as I paint intuitively, using mainly watercolor but pushing to the next level by adding spray ink. I will also be addressing paint consistency in this tutorial. Enjoy.

    I love this painting, it is beautiful. I think the title fits well. I thought the “connecting of the dots” a brilliant solution to the random spots and I never get bored watching your videos until the end…even if at times I do it over two or three days till I reach the end. There is always that sense of awe when it is finished. Thank-you for sharing!

    They remind me of spider lilies that we see in North Texas. They just pop up in your yard without leaves. Just the stems and red flowers. Also, I had a doctor tell me once that there is no “normal “, only neuro typical. And who wants to be typical??

    I would love to be able to work with this much water as I live in a desert/dry climate. I don't see your paper buckling as mine does if I'm using a lot of water. I do work with Fabriano Artistico paper and tube paints mostly by Daniel Smith. How have you managed to keep your paper even?

  • @debralynrosenbachart

    @debralynrosenbachart

    I’m in FL that might help…let me suggest wetting the back lightly…don’t let it penetrate to the front, that might help a little with the dry desert…or put a moist towel down and paint on that. That little bit of damp might help.

    This is stunning. I'm curious. In real time about how long did it take you to paint this? In the beginning when you're moving lots of wet paint around, I'm sure it is going very quickly. And I know it is important to have your tools picked out and near by. In the later stages of the painting are you moving more slowly? Just trying to gauge. If you paint intuitively, must you complete the painting in one sitting (the bulk of it anyway)? Or may there be natural stopping points for reassessment? Thank you.

  • @debralynrosenbachart

    Both. If I need wet juicy paints I’ll top off my wells. I never use hard watercolors that come wrapped in paper. Only tube paints. Tube paint allows me to make paint in the consistency that is needed in a painting. I use a lot of Mijello. Is ion Gold paints and they never dry hard.
