I'm sure the Parents appreciate the help with feeding by local townspeople--a grand gesture.

Love this! watched a nest of Wht Storks--all were good sized--no need for Mom to weed out smallest. Twice / day guy put up a step ladder and threw a bucket of fish across the nest. Very likely they all grew to fly to Turkey or N africa that fall.

Not a Local--but many times storks hatch more eggs than they can feed with both parents out looking for food for the Hatchlings. Kind local folks take up the slack and throw some extra fish up on the nest several times a day to help out.

Is the meat they leave at the edge of the nest meant to be food for the surviving parent?
