Looping with the Roland EC10 Cajon

Музыка

Paul and Darren jam using the line out from the Roland EC10 Cajon to do some fun looping. The mix of acoustic and electronic make this a very exciting instrument to play. Layered shakers, bongos, clavè and some dub.
** Ending section is ONLY the acoustic sound of the EC10. No electronic sounds. **
Gear used:
Roland EC10 x2
BOSS RC1 looper compact pedal
Roland DP10 damper pedal. (Used for start/stop) on RC1.
Amplifier / Sound System.

    Hi. I have an EC10 and am thinking id getting a looper. As most loopers are sold for guitar, which are suitable for the sounds on the EC10?

  • @pauljhermann

    @pauljhermann

    Steven Pape - loopers are generally targeted at the guitar market, but can be used for absolutely anything. There are loopers aimed at vocalists that have harmony and effects built in, but in the case all you need a simple one. The BOSS RC1 was what we used. Run the line out from the EC10 into it the same way as a guitar or keyboard and then from the pedal to an amplifier. Good to go.

    Awesome! Would you mind listing what you used in addition to the two EC10s? Looks like one looper and one additional pedal. Please confirm and identify make/models you used for a newbie. Thanks!!!!

    Absolutely! We used the RC1 looper and then used the DP10 damper pedal as a Start/Stop for the looper. Both EC10's are plugged into the RC1 inputs A/B and then outputs A/B is going to a sound system or amplifier.

    Eric Briggs - you could, for the sake of jamming. Although, loud transients can be damaging to guitar amps. If you want some good bottom end clarity, try a keyboard amplifier, or PA speakers. These are designed for electronic drums/percussion and won't be damaged.

    what cable should you use to send the audio from the cajon to a sound board??

  • @pauljhermann

    @pauljhermann

    timsoc70 - with this, you can just use a normal guitar cable to go between the cajon and sound guy. DI box is an option as well.

    Oscar Navarrete - Both EC10 outputs go into the one RC1 (Input A and B), and then the output goes to an amplifier or sound system. Then a DP10 or any footswitch pedal is plugged into the Footswitch jack. That’s really it.
