Sadly, the company itself is terrible. I was a backer for the Indigogo project and I got mine about 4 months ago, sadly it broke after a very short while and is now a paper weight. I have reached out to the company more than 10 times, I even sent a message to the CEO. I have been promised a new unit, but after 3 months of waiting I give up. Do NOT buy this for ANYONE you care about. They will love it until it breaks and then they will be heart broken by the total lack of customer service.

Update: After 3 months and 29 emails, including several to the CEO himself a replacement finally arrived. It was way more of a hassle that it should be. Although it is nice to have a working unit, the whole experience has not been good.

reminds me of the movie , "Ron's gone wrong" we are living in this new cyberfuturistic time . I love it.

I would love to see more how ChatGPT works with Loona...

Hey, was thinking the same what could you tell about the robot after 2 months?

I’m super super excited, super excited that I ordered a Loona and it was delivered the other day but I am still being so patient and not unboxing it yet. I feel like i want to meet maybe til Christmas before I opened and let Loona out of her box. Also, I kinda ordered Loona mainly for my dog (2 yr old Jack Russell) as her little sister ❤😂😅😊🎉

By all means get it for them! If you think so. I see its been a month so maybe Im to late but before you decide was hoping to share with you something.! Owning Loona for about 2 weeks now this has been my experience. I’ve dealt with many issues such as running into things like walls, straight into my feet. Just anything it’s not as smart as it seemed in the advertising and online reviews. Loona can’t have multiple masters. Poor audio recognition, It registers the audio of a clear concise command about 1 in every 3-4 attempts. From within 1 foot range too. So it shown a remote feature. In their ad it shows a guy at work (presumably a father with kids and a pet dog at home) checking the app looking thru the eyes of Loona using this promised feature to check on his house from work. Cool. If it worked, I tried from my job away from home to access the remote feature to check on my house like in the ad. “Want your other friend to have a friend when your not home? Or just want some communication from afar? Your new best friend( Loona) has got your back. Daddy when are you coming HOME?I’ll be home at 6” clearly claiming you can do just that. However it just doesn’t work. Says it needs to be on the same Wi-Fi network aka in range of the home Wi-Fi Loona is on. Therefore cannot be used at work at all. Straight up lies and feels like lots of false promises were delivered for this by the company. It’s sad. Nor could a wife/ husband both check either given only 1 login at once.. how is it family oriented if only one person can be it’s “master”. Which contradicts its promises and advertisements again. I have to hand my phone to anyone who wants to play with Loona. That’s not very family practical for a family with kids ect. Not fun for visiting friends either. I’m very disappointed. And the toy kit it came with the “ball” is paper. Very disappointed as well. Not quality. You could step on it by mistake. Now it’s flat there goes that, could get wet from a spill accidentally nearby ect. Paper.. for a 400$ robot a paper toy. Yikes. Suppose to greet me at the door. It’s never done this. She’s also (referencing ur advertisement further) claims you can call her from room away and she will come running wherever she is and find her way over. This just simply doesn’t happen. Saying “Hey Loona” doesn’t start her commands. Only “Hello Loona”. Yet in the video they say “Hey Loona” with it following commands afterward smoothly as if that also works. She haas never successfully fetched a lightly tossed small object or her ball once.

$400 isn't that much. You can get one from a shelter for even less. Buy food in bulk and it's easily less than $50/mo, depending on the size of the dog. Dogs feel real feelings, a real bond, it's a sentient being. This thing is so fake it's hard to look at.@@Shake688

it needs internet obviously but it has to be a home wifi connection, the mobile app does not allow hotspot tethering to mobile data which is absurd.

yep, its a garbage robot at that. It has maybe half the features as advertised. Customer support is a joke. You have to be connected to a home wifi network to use the few features it does have. Total disappointment and waste of money!

I'm keen to get a 'pet'´/companion robot but with so many coming on the market it feels a bit overwhelming! Emo, Loona, Ebo X ... I haven't been able to find a video that does a kind of side-by-side comparison so I can get a feel for which one to go for. I want something that can be relatively autonomous and entertaining, but integration with things like Spotify would be awesome.

I’m planning on doing a comparison video between all of these and more in September/October! It can be confusing. So far it’s a toss up for me between Loona and Emo. I like that Emo can sit on my desk but Loona is a lot more responsive and easier to interact with listening-wise imo. Good luck on your search in the meantime and thanks for watching!

I don’t think it needs the app for the commands and the ball, I think it’s like emo where u can tell it to connect to chat gpt so maybe doesn’t need app for that. I don’t think it’s that dependent to the app

@@EricJKuhns I waited almost 6 months for Loona to arrive. Got multiple emails stating they had a flood in their factory in China, they had to quality check bla bla -- that's why the delay. Ours Loona legs get stuck and she flipped upside down and make a lot of jamming noise. Every time we turn her on, she just get into more weird "stuck" position maneuver and got even worst. My son doesn't care to turn it on anymore. Very sad that this such a poor quality product - considering that I had even tipping them extra for Loona.

According to their FAQ page it looks like Loona can understand 8 languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean and You can change the language in the Settings on the App after connecting Loona with the App!

Your review is highly biased by the fact you got her for free. I was hoping for the ChatGPT function to be better, she has no semsors that actually matter, and, just to name a few, try giving Loona to a dog while you're at work through remote control and let's see how long she lasts.

The chatgpt part is particularly unconvincing. It looks like it is heavily restricted and most probably substituted by conditional code in the app. 👎

These things break super easy, quality assurance is not great in these.

Brilliant, if you are 10 years old.. I would love a robot that was useful, not just for playing silly kids games and other pointless stupid things.. I want it to have autonomous security mode for when I go out, for it to work all of my home automation when asked to turn tv on or lights off.. I would rather wait for a few more years when hopefully these robots are more adult orientated. So for me no thank-you total waste of money.. get bored of it in a week or two like i did with Victor..it would join the other junk in the cupboard .

Until you have to pay for it, Hopefully they add the features the kickstart video advertised loona as having when i shelled out $400 for it. Once i got it (7 months later) it does hardly anything compared to the advertisement. Zero edge detecting! cant run a wifi hotspot on your phone for when you are out of the house... loona is dumb and GPT is rendered useless along with any android or ios control... complete waste of money honestly.

Its a lovely toy but its not cheap.
