@@NicolasFairford In the 1930's North Berwick was an Edinburgh high society retreat. Those huge stone built houses near the Marine hotel held many a weekend party. My father was able to mix with many different levels of people, and was friends with a family who owned a house there and used to get invited along. In that era only the very rich owned cars and they would race down to North Berwick from Edinburgh for the weekend.

Nicolas - your videos make me yearn for days when there was a certain amount of elegance and decorum. There is such a soft spot in my heart for beautiful dinnerware, elegant tea cups and teapots. We have lost so much in the sense that no one dresses for family gatherings, church attendance, etc. We have all fallen victim to casual attire in the form of jeans and boots and it takes the "special" out of our activities. Thank you for filling my heart and mind with things of beauty - which bring about such a special joy for occasions to be celebrated. I hope you continue to spread the joy found in beautiful things and the warmth and charm of beautifully decorated living spaces.

Disliking this video is legitimately a crime... the content is a dose of elegance beauty class and everything between that we all need in our lives... thank you Nicolas

This is gorgeous! I’ve always had a spot in my heart for Scotland. I’m from Canada, but my ancestors were forced out of Scotland to work in Canada to pay off a debt. It’s always been my dream to be able to possibly move back, the scenery is just so beautiful 😍

Now I know where you get your good looks, your parents are lovely! The apartment was absolutely gorgeous!

I can't believe you got to live in a place like that at such a young age. That wasn't an appartment, it was a mansion within a mansion. Wow. And then to have all that green space, beach, and water right there. Heaven.

beyond lovely, Nicolas! As we are all well aware, the UK is the 'birthplace of the highly civilized,' Nicolas being an example of that... I'm American (thank you) and have ancestors from the UK--which explains my ghastly good taste and appreciation of beauty! Loved this tour!

Dear Nicolas, another absolutely beautiful video. Thank you so much for all the beauty you provide with your content. I feel connected with Meme Davis and Denis Aydin in that I found this so very poignant. The hotel is lovely, and you home was obviously a place of love and family gatherings. Dear little Sophie was obviously delighted to back there, enjoying her familiar walks with you.

Lucky you to have had a generous boyfriend who was able to provide for your life in privileged circumstances. I you were right to enjoy it and take advantage of it.

When you showed the photos of your former lodging, I was awestruck. I expected some nice interiors, but not that. It was an amazing tour.

What a joy. Why did you leave this wonderful home? By the way, who are the numpties who have left a dislike? What could anyone possibly dislike about this lovely young chap? He has made lockdown bearable!

I live in the USA BUT I was born in Ayrshire Scotland and views that you are showing on here were the kind of views we could spend a Sunday afternoon touring. I am very homesick watching this video, thanks for posting it.❤

If the introduction was shot this month, you were very lucky with the weather. It’s not usually like this in North Berwick in February! North Berwick has a great history. It was famous in the 1500s for its witch trials and burnings. It’s now famous for its house prices which, along with St Andrews and Troon, are amongst the highest in Scotland for a seaside golfing town.
