They say that last names last forever and only get passed down generation to generation, so if someone shares the same last name who knows, maybe their family from year 300 or year 400 (not thousands) started to become more distant as generations because blood wasn’t as thick anymore because generations went on and on and started to move etc

Doppelgangers. I saw a story like this about two guys from England. I forget if they were actually related or not. They got the DNA test tho. Both 53% Germanic. That's hilarious. On top of the same name thing. (Both my parents were German and I have way less Germanic DNA than that.) Maybe they were identical twins in another life. They don't look identical now, just wildly similar.

Take away the beards and they look nothing like each other.

I was told I was mainly German ancestry and did a DNA test and found mainly English, Scottish, Scandinavian and Irish ancestry and a small fragment of German. I honestly had more Scandinavian than German. I think a lot of people would be surprised if they took that test.

Siblings including identical twins dont even share the same dna. When my brother did 23 & me, our whole family was upset at him. We later looked into it & found out that NO ONE not even clones will ever fully share the same DNA. That's God for you!

My DNA test shows 0 biogeographical Chinese, yet another test I took with a deep dive revealed 4 generations back han Chinese ancestory, and 50 generations of interesting lineage and answered some of my interests in those exact cultures buried in my genes. If you look into lineage/ancestory, it is different from DNA, your DNA always favors recent ancestory for evolution and survival but your cells still Carrie genotypes from the ancient past as all people do

just because the tests show different results doesn’t mean they aren’t related, the Irish and Italian and other smaller numbers could be made up from they’re individual parents and grand parents. They could still be related by great, great , great grandparents

I once met two girls that were bestfriends and lemme tell you they look like twins(seriously they even look more alike than the two men in that vid, they were both very short, dark brown straight hair, dark brown eyes and thin) so I expected them to be twins but they werent. One day I noticed one of them calling for her actual sister and I was dumbfounded when I saw her sister was way taller but younger, had blonde curly hair, blue eyes and was chubby…my face was literally 👁👄👁 *w* *t* *f*

Basically they're Doppelgangers

Once you get their hats and glasses off, they don't look so similar. The relation with all humans is distant. Maybe theirs is slightly less distant, that's all.

There’s probably a common ancestor a few generations back. Forget DNA, they need to trace their genealogy. That’ll explain the same last name.

if they had a common ancestor they would have had shared segments of their chromosomes (their dna). its one in the same, there is no such thing as being "unrelated genetically" yet having a common ancestor

It's the red hair which tricks us into thinking the physical resemblance is stronger than it is. Also, I found it interesting/intentional that the reporter/voiceover never mentions their ages, because obviously if they were born at different times they could not be twins.
