My prediction is it's gonna have something to do with his daughter passing away, and he tries to resurrect/rebuild her, almost like a homonculus from FMA (iykyk) which explains the sculpted face on the desk, then resorting to dark arts and otherworldly demonic/cosmic beings or spirits to breath "life" into her. Either she's not the daughter he intended or these beings are coming to collect their toll.

Either there's something wrong with her (like monkeys paw or pet cemetery) or those beings are coming back to collect their fee.

Holy crap I don't think I've ever been that deeply unsettled by a trailer. What an absolute master class in showing a good amount of footage and the gist of the movie without giving away ANYTHING. So many trailers these days - especially horror - give away the entire plot

Many early reactions have said how "evil"the film "feels", and I can see why. This trailer alone just feels so wrong and unsettling,the evil just radiates off of it. This will be the last trailer I watch though, I love Oz Perkins previous films, especially Blackcoat's Daughter, like the cast, really intrigued to see what Nicolas Cage does here as he hasn't been shown once. And I love disturbing procedural horror/thrillers. Other than that have no idea what its about and where its going. CAN'T WAIT!

Anyone else get Se7en, Prisoners, Silence of the Lambs vibes? Appears Cage is playing the role of the demented psychopathic killer similar to the Hopkins/Lecter Spacey/John Doe Marissa Leo/Holly roles in each of those films.

The reason it is scary at least to me is that it sounds more like fake crying considering all the moaning. Especially the one he does when that person comes into frame makes it sound like he is taking pleasure in whatever he is doing

Osgood Perkins films violence so abruptly and viscerally that it’s terrifying.

Not even a horror fan, and I think this is one of the more brilliant marketing campaigns ever. The teases, the build up, and, of course, Nick Cage.

Now this is how you do a horror trailer! Show some, but not all. Better to be intrigued and hyped than overwhelmed and spoiled. Oz Perkins is the real deal! It's in his blood, so that's no surprise. Such an incredible filmmaking style! I highly recommend Gretel and Hansel if you haven't seen it! I can't wait to check out Longlegs when it hits theaters!
