LONG-TERM WRAP UP: Ford Everest Platinum
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
With the lofty claim that the new Everest Platinum is now more directly positioned against the Toyota Prado than it is against the Fortuner, Ian McLaren delivers his verdict after spending a significant chunk of time with the Ford SUV from our long-term fleet. #Review

Perspective, in 2003 I bought a 4 bedroom facebrick house in Welgelegen Cape Town with double garage for R1, 000,000

At 7% annual inflation, that is equivalent to R4.1m today.
Fantastic review. 💯
The price is quite alot hey! but honestly it is worth the cash. but with little knowledge with used cars, best to wait for a year or so and buy them slightly used. if i can get my hands on a previous gen top spec even better because there is still things we have to wait and see what fails and you dont become part of recalls and stuff. otherwise awesome product
Nice review! Its a brilliant value for money machine. After the first 4.5k running the petrol engine’s humming sound is now harsh inside the cabin, any suggestions?
Great review well informative
Struggling to decide... Current outgoing Prado ( tested and reliable )( not convinced about the FJ look of the new one) but having to worry about hi-jacking or theft on a daily basis ... vs the Ford Platinum / Wildtrack and having to worry whether it will last 10 years as an ongoing concern? Also wondering whether to consider the MUX, with none of the above concerns ...? My daughter thinks the MUX is under-whelming ... ( Champaign problems I guess..) HELP!!

I thought Toyotas and Ford were in the same brackets of hijacked vehicles? But I would choose the Prado out of all

@@RastaAfricanGentleman Yeah, was about to write the same thing. The other thing to consider is where you live. Some areas/ provinces are somewhat "safer" compared to the others. I am actually considering the Raptor myself, but being where I live, it carries a higher than normal risk. .

@@mo_0912 I truly agree with you. What I found scary though is how much these guys travel with our hijacked vehicles. Sometimes you find a car stolen in Cape Town found in the Free State and wonder if its a criminal network. Find cars stolen in KZN found in Limpopo. Its hard to jeep with this madness. They are really making us miss our beloved choice of vehicles. The raptor is a beast of a car by the way, great choice
Is there add blue on landcruiser prado or grenadier ?
I booked platinum. I love the smooth ride of the Titanium. I am worried that the Platinum will not have a smooth ride because it is equipped with 21-inch wheels. Is the Platinum's ride still smooth?
No Matrix headlights??
It seems reliability is an issue with ford and that big car definitely will bring the fuel consumption up to task

I own a Ford ranger from 2016, and I really use it for what it's designed for, carrying heavy loads, often exceeding it's recommended limits. At 8 years of ownership I have not encountered these so-called "reliability issues" that many internet trolls talk about. Do you own one and experienced issues? I am currently in the market for both a ranger raptor and everest, I have no doubt they would be reliable. Unless Toyota or other manufacturer matches Ford's quality and tech then I would consider them, Because I am not loyal to any brand.

@@josh3221ify I don't own one, I am getting a feel of what seasoned car owners have to say. I also have a friend who had a problem with his wildtrek X within a few months of purchase but got his issue sorted in the end. So it's not trolling or car bashing but reading from the market like I would with any other product...... I own a Toyota Fortuner and Nissan Navara Pro4X so I was looking at options when I change cars even though I am experiencing no problem on both but just to have options as I too am not brand loyal

Seal perished on a brand new vehicle, not possible.
4:32 disappointing work from your camera guy. How do you talk about something you're not going to show? So what was the point of opening up the fuel filler flap when he won't bother showing us what this add blue thing is? 🙄🙄.

Use the Internet thing to look it up 😂

@@boogboog8097 I don't care to look it up. That wasn't the point. A car review video should show what they talk about, not for instance say "these gorgeous perforated leather seats" and not show the seats. What's the point then?
Ford FINALLY makes a good looking vehicle and then doesn’t make it available in the USA. 🙄
That adblue is a dealbreaker for me. Political emissions money making tax.

The amount of adblue used is so little it usually gets topped up during the vehicle service. It is not like you are filling it every month.
