I keep my unused set of tires on their own wheels in my basement for up to 8 months at a time, and simply stack the four tires. The last several years they've been packaged individually in tire bags. Never had any problem with them and they've always lasted until they were too old to keep using.

The correct way is to keep the tyres separated from each other.

Deflate tires to 15 psi for long storage. Max air pressure during storage will stretch belts. Especially for semi tires they hold 120psi.

DO NOT USE BLACK TRASH-BAGS OR ANYTHING LABELED AS SUCH FOR STORAGE !!! Trash bags contain biologics which cause them and their contents to decay and break down. Only use bags or plastic specifically made for storage of anything! BTW, you should also wash and dry your tires and rims before storage to remove any contaminants that can cause decay and corrosion.
