hey nick, I really like your videos and learned alot! so thanks for that. Recently I wanted to draw ropes and knots and I find ich very difficult. I used the paths tool but knots are difficult objects becuase sometimes they go over parts and sometimes under. so if you want to design a blakes hitch for example, how would you do it? thanks so far :) by the way I use gimp not inkscape

11:13 I don't make a lot of curves with the bézier tool, so I find the fourth option to work much better.

I have been searching and cannot locate any help on the best file format or process of saving a t-shirt design to be able to upload to supacolor, Do you know or have a recomendation. I see pdf on their website, but when I save as PDF using inkscape it does not have a transparent background. Would png be the best option?

There were many changes with v1.2. I'm learning inkscape for the first time, too, but what I found super helpful (even if not very exciting) is I watched another video (about an hour) of all the new changes in v1.2.

I can't found ectrude on 4:28 from path on my inskape

Once again great video. Thank you. Unfortunately, I'm using Inkscape on a mac 14" and when i try to use the Extrude option, a corner of the N and K go flying off to the sides. Hopefully and update with a fix will come out soon.

how can l use the exact same interface that you have how do l customize it what should l do someone help pls :)

Question: The Text Tool When I create text and use the text tool, I can select font sizes by points. I can also change the font size by dragging a corner of the text. Is there a fundamental difference between these two methods? Should I prefer one over the other?

There's no difference. The text size inputs are good if you need your text to be a specific size, but the transformation handles are good if you want to quickly freehand scale your text.

Are the fonts in inkscape free to use in products you sell?

How do you do this with round shapes like a P or R. Because with extrude the round ones become straight between the nodes.

You could apply a very subtle Gaussian blur

Nick, on my Imac, everything works fine until I go to extensions, extrude. It's an unfixable mess. Any suggestions?

I need help with something.. Sorry if this is dumb, I'm new to Inkscape. My issue is, one time, I made a circle and modified the curve (by accident) and now every circle I make is a pacman. When trying to fix it, the curve just starts from the beginning.

In the tool settings menu towards the top of the screen there is a setting to make complete circles when you have that tool enabled.

The keyboard and mouse make it easy to do things in Inkscape. We can view our work on a larger screen which also helps.
