Here you see one of the biggest excavator booms in the country! This is a 270 tonne long reach excavator with a 3-part excavator boom of 42 metres in length. It is used to trim batter slopes, and place armour rock on reclamations and seawalls by New Zealand company Heron Construction. Real Steel manufactured the steel components for this boom, which were then fabricated by Heron Construction.
