Great tip on the secondary mark on the single pin sight. How do you feel about raising the peep sight 1/4 - 1/2" to gain more distance for your sight?

How is making to be 1 mile range distance bow ? I have trunk arm.

i would love to see you talk about effective range, i have students that think if they hit an 8in plate at 60 yards, they can hunt at that distance.

Bringing the dovetail in increases the clearance too correct? So the slider will be in more making the adjustments larger

Red XJ yes it would give you a touch more arrow clearance but your pin gap will also change in your housing assuming you are shooting a multi pin slider

I have the same sight, but having an issue with arrow clearance going past 60yds. I want to range out at further distances for 3D targets(80-100+), do I need to adjust anchor, peep, or my sight? Thanks for any advice and great videos.

@@waynemaster2752 wouldn't increasing weight run his fps one his target 290? Adding weight would necessitate a heavier arrow to keep fps down.

Thanks for the video Phil. I'm looking for a recommendation on a five pin adjustable sight. What sight do you recommend or prefer? I'm just a hunter, but these 3D's anymore have these long shots and I'm tired of just winging arrows haha.

There are many great sights on the market so the easiest way to determine which way to go is price. I like the Black gold Ascent Verdict and the Spot Hogg fast eddie xl for a $200-250 sight. I like the Black Gold Pure and the Axcel Accutouch for a 350$ sight. In all fairness to Spot Hogg, I haven't ever tried their Hog father.

Hey thanks man. That gives me some insight. I have people tell me, oh you've got to get this sight or that sight when thats the only sight the've used. I like the fact that you've used these sights. I'm assuming I can get different size pins with these sights. What size pin do you recommend for hunting?

On my 5 pin driver set ups I like to have my top two pins as .019 and the next 3 as .010.

Nice, I was thinking 4 pins with .019 and my bottom pin a .010, but I like the idea of the bottom 3 being the smaller pin. Our local bow shop shut down last fall so I want to have an idea of what I want before I drive 3 hours to a bow shop. Thanks again for the info, I really appreciate it.

How much room do you recommend between the arrow shaft and the bottom of my sight?

Sorry about the late response on your question. If your question is specific to your arrow when you are at full draw and right before the shot the answer is I like to have the height of my vane plus about 1/8 of an inch. You can go less but for safety reasons I would not. This also depends on your fletch configuration. If you are shooting a 4 fletch you can get away with a touch less assuming you are not shooting one vane straight up.

What did you to make your sight tape? What program did you use? I need to make some sight tapes for different arrow setups that look nice and I can read.

Hot tip. Center bottom sight pen in center of peep sight and squeeze the trigger and slowly relax and watch your arrow. Stop light a smoke, take a sip of your Coors, relax. Deep breaths, put cig down and be the arrow.

What an insult, Long bows were never shot using a release aid for wimps, the string goes on three fingers, one above and two below the nock of the nock of the arrow, this it why a finger tab is used, usually of leather.
