I had 2 clients that wanted this same haircut and I didn’t know that I could it the way you showed😅 until a coworker showed me the same exact method. What I did was I did a face frame and sectioned the back like I was going to cut length off, but all I did was cut it in a v freehand and just blended it in to the face frame. Then I layered 😊

you are amazing. I just got my hair cut and my hair dresser did a terrible job. I thought he new how-to do the v shape long layered hair cut. but I love how you sectioned the hair. it does look better and easy to do. I wish I meet a hair dresser like you that knows how to perfectly do a v shaped hair cut.

wow, i cut my own hair and this seems like a great method for cutting hair in back. This is exactly the look i want. Is there a way to do something like this on shorter hair though, that is already layered and doesn't all reach to the same point in front? I don't care for so much of a V in back, would probably trim it to a slight U or something in the very very back

You can cut the same way for shorter hair, when the back hair no longer reaches the front you don't cut. You comb them and cut the tips in V or U if necessary.
