I’m 70 years old and my hair is natural gray, I mean silver!😂. I had an allergic reaction to dye a few years ago and was told by my dermatologist that I could not color my hair anymore because it could be dangerous. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. It is also long and I constantly get compliments which I greatly appreciate. Your hair is beautiful and so healthy looking. The green eyed monsters are the ones who like to inflict their unasked for opinions that we older ladies shouldn’t wear their hair long; luckily there are few of them! Enjoy your beautiful self!🥰🥰🥰

I went to a blues festival yesterday and so many women over 60 had beautiful long hair, all textures and types. It's so encouraging to feel that we are moving into a freedom time where not everyone over 60 has to look the same. I'm 61 and will never have a short hairdo. Great video!

We never had to conform to any rules society had put out there about age and hair length. The thing is a lot of woman get old and lazy. They go and tell the hairstylist to please cut their hair short because they don’t want to have to bother too much with it anymore. Imagine that? At a time in life when they probably have more free time than ever, they don’t want to spend a small amount of time on their hair. That will never be me.

I think long hair looks fabulous on older women personally! People should wear their hair the way they want to. That being said though - even looking at it analytically - I also love short hair on younger women (And being in my mid 50s, I often envy it a little bit!) Short hair, if full and feminine, really sets off a youthful jaw line, good skin, shoulders, and body more confidently than long hair in many cases. I miss being able to wear my hair shorter like I did in my 30s, LOL. However - I felt short hair is definitely more work - does either a really good hair day or a really bad hair day. Having almost shoulder length hair definitely allows for more flexibility and quick touchups more so than a chin length bob did, LOL. Speaking for myself though - I’m wondering if some of the older women might cut hair shorter due to arthritis concerns. I’m in my mid 50s, and just within the past 12 months my osteoarthritis has increased exponentially. Thankfully, my wrists don’t have it yet, but my fingers and my ability to write or grasp has gone down by 50% just within the past year or so. That could be a factor why some women want to change their grooming routine maybe.

One of the most beautiful women I have ever seen was a southern lady in her eighties with elegant waist-length white hair. So striking! Sadly, her own daughters convinced her she was too old to wear her hair long, because it just wasn’t socially acceptable. As a result, this elegant lady was no longer easy to locate in a crowd, but instead simply blended in with all the other elderly grey and white headed women. Wear YOUR hair anyway that makes you happy ladies, and ignore the fashion police who have their own agendas, which has nothing to do with you.

Amen Sister! ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 Nobody needs to tell us how to wear our hair and how to dress! Because of Covid I ended up growing my hair very long, let it stay it’s natural color (silvery gray), cut it myself into long layers and amazingly, at age 62, I’ve gotten more compliments on my hair than I ever have in my whole life! You know, my own mother chastised me in my 30's for having long hair!! I'm now 49 and my hair is still down to the middle of my back. Why is it that people think older women should have shorter hair?? I don't get that. My hair used to be to my waist, but I can't do that anymore from back problems. But I refuse to cut my hair short until such a time that I cannot take care of it anymore!! I hate short hair on me! Kudos for bringing up this subject and for daring to have long hair yourself. 😊

Cutting your hair shorter as an older woman is a very old mindset. I remember my grandmother and mother saying the same thing. I believe it's been a belief carried down over several generations. The funny thing about me (I'm 55) is my hair was always short when I was young, by choice. After the age of 40, I started to let it grow longer. :) No regrets!

I agree, that short is passed down form the previous generations. My wife 52 and her mom both go to the barbershop and get the same mens flat tops cuts. Her mom has had a "man's" flat top for over 40 plus years and talk my Wife into getting the same cut on her 30th birthday. (22 years ago) Saying it was a good no fuss mature mom cut to have. I ask my wife if she going to maybe go long but she said the flat top is just so easy with no daily maintenance. Her mom pays for the constant up keep. They say it's a girls day out. Do I have a say or let her and mom do their thing?

I’ve always had long hair and I’m close to 62! I just feel more feminine and it’s more versatile to work with. The key is to keep it looking good is trimming the ends and moisturize it so it stays healthy and strong. I’m fortunate because my hair is thick, wavy, so I can wear it naturally or straighten it. Whenever I have cut my hair short in the past, I felt it aged me and it was harder to style. To each her own… if you feel beautiful in long or short hair… you do you❤️

You have definitely inspired ME to grow my hair long. Your hair looks gorgeous and I think that if your hair is healthy it looks good long at any age xx

You have always reminded me of Jane Seymour. She is a timeless beauty. The Dyson paddle brush attachment is my favorite too. ❤️ I used to curse my curly hair but now that it is thinning, I agree that any hair is a blessing 🌸
