I have been wanting to use this app for 2 years but have failed to get it to launch on my Edge 1000 despite successfully downloading it there according to Garmin Express. This was the only help I found describing the actual process and for that I thank you. I still can’t get it to work because it doesn’t come up as an option to add within data screens, but at least now I know the proper process! Thanks again.

Early on in this video you went through setting up the 1030 Plus for use in driving an automobile to the start point for a ride. I would like to see (hear) a more detailed discussion of driving from place to place with the help of the 1030 Plus. From what you explained, seems to me, I have no need for an automobile GPS device if I really knew how to use the 1030 Plus.

I found out the 1030 does NOT come with maps that support automobile navigation, however, you can download free ones but it is a little difficult. See this video and its' video description for the details: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gINomZpxhZe8d5s.html

Great video. I just received my 1030 last night and learned a lot from your videos! I really like the colorful analog screen! I do have a question, how do you set the time zone on the device? I’m in Japan, but the time on my 1030 is an hour behind. Thanks in advance!

I have never had that problem. I searched Garmin's site and it says: "Each time you turn on the device and acquire satellites or sync with your smartphone, the device automatically detects your time zone and the current time of day." Of course, you're not seeing that. Maybe you can try the things in this: forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/cycling/f/edge-520-520-plus/108742/incorrect-time-of-day

Yes - I didn't install anything to get it, just enabled it in the settings.

gbyzh: You either substitute another data field or choose another data page to use with one less number than the one you had and then re-entering what you want.

I Boght an Edge 530 having never used a cycling computer before, the manual of this thing is completely useless. I'm not stupid by any means, but you seem to need a degree in bike commuters to use the thing. Very much regretting buying it. I'd prefer to be riding my bike than trying to understand it. There aren't guides for people that have zero clue.

As an educator, I am relieved to realize there is a difference in actually being able to "teach" someone...something. So far none of these usage and instruction videos are worth the time it took to make (unless you have a general knowledge of item). Brad , while clearly adept at the nuances of this Garmin, assumes far too much and is woefully pathetic in getting his point across.
