London Transport Buses 2023-Camden Town+Chalk Farm Classic Bus Running Day, Routemasters, RT+Titan
It's early November 2023 and i'm in Camden Town for the Camden Town & Chalk Farm Classic Bus Running Day. It coincided with the closure of Chalk Farm Bus Garage 30 years ago, in 1993. We see classic London Transport AEC & Leyland bus types at work, RT, RTL, RTW, RM, RML, XF & a Titan, on routes 24, 29, 31, 68 & 139 at Camden Town, Hampstead Heath, Chalk Farm, Warren Street Station and Mornington Crescent Stn. Excellent film, so lovely hearing the sound of an RT....
RTs, RMs, an old Leyland and a Titan. Proper buses. I've driven the 31 and the 139 before and would have loved to have a go on one of them😔
Your must have appreciated filming these with a hi def camera of today. I know I enjoyed all the RT and RTL action shown. 6:08 I could tell it was an extra wide version as it trundled down, being an RTW. Nice seeing a T restored in London Buses treatment though the LT one is much more striking. I liked the BMAC 343 taillights back in. 9:15 good to see an RM in typical 1990s condition represented 🤣. Good work capturing this.

Thank you.... i was south ready to depart Heathrow on a 5 week trip to the Far East, and this was on the weekend before i left.... Yes, much better quality, although to be fair, VHS with sound was much better quality than silent cine film! And of course, today's cameras are so much smaller than my Panasonic M series VHS camera's, i can slip my Sony cam-corder in my pocket!!!

You wouldn't believe it but RM 2023 is all original apart from its 90s livery.. It still has its AEC lump and was a pleasure to conduct on that day!

Yes, i have my moments!.... lol This was a couple of days before i took off to the Far East to make some vids of trains & planes.....
0:53 I have a piece of roller destination blind with 'WARREN STREET STN' from a Routemaster as a souvenir on my wall!

Yes, blinds, or pieces thereof, are very collectable.....
The old Routemaster buses are still about.
