I stopped racing in 1980 - and that was exactly the gear we still had.

Just fantastic. Imagine riding 278 miles at 23.6mph average, in wool jerseys, with cables sticking out everywhere ! Puts it into perspective, if you think that only riders in the modern era are really fit.

Not to mention with a 13-23 x5 block..wool jerseys and shorts are great in a wet, damp, and cold day...
