While one might argue that things could have been handled better, what he did was still much better than any other UK leader at that time. Without him, there was a very high chance that Europe would have fallen to the Nazis. His tactics and efforts at keeping the German invasion at bay vastly helped the other allies in re-organizing their forces, which was a major cause of Germany's defeat since their then famous 'Blitzkrieg' strategy was broken

Oh yeah, I remember this. Even almost 2 years later, this feels ridiculous. The generation these days don't know what respect is, and as one of those, I feel shameful and embarrassed. They don't know we have this peaceful life because they devoted and dedicated their lives.

Im not british, but Churchill isnt 100% innocent. But at the same time. He was the U.K. prime minister during the worst times in their history to date. WW2 and due to his effforts It allowed their country to grow and be prosperous again. And Still have a good amount of influence in global affairs and grow back into a great economy again.

It's a shame that a statue of one of the most important people in the world is treated this way, Churchill deserves more respect than he gets, Churchill is a hero and how they vandalized his statue is shocking, and besides, how is Churchill related to the black protest?

@Bub Gunther Robertson they would never ally the Soviets as Slavs were just as bad as Jews for him Also if he did wait he would definitely lose to the Soviets as the only reason they almost lost was they were mobilising(their military rose from 1000000 to 4000000 in only 3 years) so if this continues to the end the Soviets would destroy the germans. British bases would be destroyed but due to naval supremely no inversion could be made. So only a white peace would be reached as I said before.The USA was also mobilising and would destroy Japan especially without Germany in Europe

@F.B.I Churchill always viewed Ireland as a part (family) of UK. It was very unfortunate, the tactics implemented to make Ireland independent, as with any other country or nation. Winston Churchill loved Ireland dearly. The internal wars from 1920-1922 was NOT to destroy the Irish Republic, but to make peace with both sides. Winston Churchill is viewed as a Constitutionalist, strong patriot. Salute Chief!
