Nice video, reminds me of when I rode a railfan special out of Grand Central in NY to Danbury CT back in 87 behind NH painted FL9's. The engines were pushing and the first car was the cab control car. Had a terrific view of going through the GCT tunnels below Park Ave and then coming out in the rain too. Videoed the whole trip.
A great video great memories worked out of Euston many a time, great nostalgia thanks.
Nice video !!! Suscribed, and ready for more. Greetings from Spain, raining as well......!!
Great vids ! More of this please :)
yeah i did notice great video mate
There is actually some 3rd rail - the two platforms to the left of the one the video train starts in are for London Overground services which run on the 'DC lines' to Watford using 3rd rail electrification (actually a modified form of 4th rail electrification for compatibility with Bakerloo line stock but the principal is the same). To allow the trains to get to the DC lines a pair of tracks are electrified with both 3rd rail and overhead methods. The 3rd rail has diverged by South Hampstead.
@Adelante077 Yep it was a 350, im not giving any details though for protection ;)
@Adelante077 LOL I meant not giving any details about the service
This Desiro seems quite silent, even in driver's cab Do the "pings" call drivers attention to incoming lights ? I guess so, but are they different in case of a red or yellow signal next to come ? Thanks for sharing
Shame about the rain but I really enjoyed the journey. Thank you
great stuff. thx
Great vid mate, how did you manage to blag a cab ride? It's a like & fave for me, thanks.
Great video mate! What this your dad's London Midland train or something else?
Great vid--on the Down Slow?--engineering on the Fast's??
The lines out of Euston are lettered A, B, C, D, E and X. Looking down, they're lettered from right to left. Line X crosses under all but one of these lines.
@danski2345 It is a 350, if you listen carefully you can hear that ghost spaceship sound tracton motor especially in the tunnel
What's the 'C' for on the signal route indicator? Camden?
nice one mate was this onboard a 350 my any chance?
I see both overhead and 3rd rail and wondered if this is a combined system or does it support two types of electric train?
my good man what does the C signal light indicate?
I used to ride the London Midland trains and the amount of times people couldn't get off because a door button was buggered. You drivers need to make sure as you don't give a lot of time for people to get off.
ah euston to harrow weald, my part of town!
What unit was this filmed in? Was it a 321 or a desiro?
what train?
At 10:04 passing Wembley Central
@rachaelmatt I already know the details, 62 4 car, built in austria germany by siemans, older sets has 2+2 seats throughout and AC/DC ability and the newer stock has 3+2 seating except first class and only runs on AC and thats about it (as far as i know) :)
@rachaelmatt oh lol well all i know is it was going somewhere out of euston lol
yeah well it's only really used when the football is on :D
what is this train
Useless wipers. But I can tell the windows are treated with a hydrophobic substance such as Aquapel.
