Lovely to see this music preserved for future generations. My father was a musician who began playing in dance bands in 1927, thus this was the type of music he played. My father passed away in 1995 at the age of 89, but I still hear him playing

Music from when my parents were children. My English mum sang all of these, dancing around the kitchen, with all us kids laughing and thinking she was so silly and wuaint. Now hearing these makes me smile a bittersweet smile. So, "won't you stay to tea?"

Thank you! I am always searching for this fabulous music. You have so much! I'm happily listening.

I am on cloud 9 after hearing Al Bowlly singing Clouds, funny enough track 9 ... Eric Whitley is also in fine voice on track 11. Also its always great to hear Bertini & his band even if the copy is a little worn.

Another fine band, (weren`t they all?) from that glorious era when so many individual sounds and styles within the dance band framework - (for a desperate need of a better description!) I never get tired of listening to all those tireless performances -- although I bet the players DID get very tired . Pleas from the audience for just one more number - or from the manager, "There will be a bit extra if you can just give us an extra hour!" Or that sort of scenario!

Bob, i keep getting surprises by randomly clicking on those videos on the right side under the 'Up Next' section. Thanks for sharing. I reckon your record storing room would be like Aladdin's cave full of treasured records.

Love all the tracks, I've never heard Clouds before, so that's a new Bowlly favourite for me.

Your music playlist posts have lifted me up all the 'Covid-all the time world' now. I put this on and laugh at all of the non-sense. Why fear the flu when you can grab a glass of champagne and dance around the room?!! Seriously, this music is a life saver!! Thank you again and again. Agree! Happy music lifts our spirits compared to the dreary dirges they churn out today. No wonder people are miserable with the 24/7 misery on BBC. Switch off the tv and dance to this I say!

Incredibly this was music still being played on the radio in 1950, cause I was living in grandma and grandpa's house so that was what was played along with country western and Mexican music.

British bands are some of my favorites but then two Americans lead those bands too. I speak of Carroll Gibbons and Roy Fox.

The best music in the world! May I ask, who are your favorite composers? There are some truly enchanting pieces that many don't know anymore. The 1930s is my absolute favorite era in music. I never grow tired of it, and return again and again to your fabulous videos! Thank you again!

As for my favorite song writers, some of my favorites are Cole Porter, Mack Gordon and Harry Revel (these two wrote some of my all time favorites) Noel Coward, Irving Berlin and of course George and Ira Gershwin. I have long felt we owe a debt of gratitude to the Jewish community for the great musical legacy they have given us. As I am sure you know, the list is quite extensive.

I love this. Your channel is my default for music. Keep them coming...

@@pax41 Doch, gefällt mir sehr gut diese Musik. Bob, die Menschen sind immer so in Eile und nehmen nichts wirklich mehr wahr. Sie sehen in die Ferne und können nicht wirklich z.B. die Natur vor ihrer Haustür beobachten / genießen. Das ist sooooo schrecklich. Unsere Zeit, in der wir leben ist so .... ich finde gar keine Worte. In Frieden leben, Rücksicht auf andere nehmen...Wo ist der Respekt gegenüber älteren Menschen geblieben? Und diese Gehässigkeit die viele Menschen ausstrahlen..... So manch einer ist so unpersönlich. Was passiert nur um uns rum? Jeder denkt nur an sich.... Mir macht das richtig Angst.... ...und dann höre ich Deine Musik und bin froh, Dich und Deine Musik hier auf KZread gefunden zu haben. Ich kann nur immer wieder sagen: Danke, Bob, für Deine tolle Musik / Musikzusammenstellungen....
