Lomography Digitaliza+ Overview

Just randomly talking about my purchase the Digitaliza+ from my recent visit to Lomography Store in Tokyo...
Not a review but more like an overview of the product what it does and the procedures of scanning the film negative....

I have Plustek OpticFilm 8200i. It was expensive but scans look better than what lab provides and are higher res (69 Mpix).

I predict for 35mm the Plustek offers the best resolution for consumers in terms of price. Digital scans only work well if you scan medium format film negatives using a medium format digital camera, or 35mm digital would work but the dynamic range is limited due to sensor size, while since 35mm film negative is sooo small in terms of surface area...I personally think the Plustek route is better. Still it's trial and error for some ppl might prefer scanning using a DSLR but I still love my Plustek 😂 8200...I'm wondering if Plustek could lend me the 8100 since my Plustek video has the most view so far

I'll consider this one for the future. Seems more reliable and intuitive than my current scanning solution :D

Great video! Would be tempted of buying this if I had a higher megapixel sensor camera. I have the epson perfection v550 which works good depending on moon and wind conditions... Every other software update on it makes scanning great then horrible XD

Medium format probably v550/600 is probably easier you will have to invest more for a significant upgrade. And that would be costly....beyond that it would be a total investment.

Love how you ignore the arrows how to put in the 35mm Film and to rotate the knob counter clockwise 😄

Omoshirokatta, arigatou! I may get one, now that I started shooting with a hassleblad 500. 120mm looks a bit annoying, but at least I can do it myself with this device.

Ur welcome 120mm you either can use a flatbed scanner from Epson but they can get pricy and unless you frequently shoot alot for some ppl it might be worth it. In my case I frequently shoot more 120>35mm so I typically use a flatbed but this is a great option for ppl who want to scan both but you have to sort of invest in a digital camera with a macro lense to shoot the film stripes but most ppl already have a digital camera/Mirrorless and they only have to buy a macro lense which is roughly 200$usd

Can I ask you how you actually scan the 645 negative? Is there an additional mask in the kit? Since the light would spill if not, or I am mistaken?

Thanks for commenting I realized that there wasn't one (film mask)i purchased since 645 the negatives is sideways instead or the typical horizontal position you will have to add some type of black paper cutout to block the light from spilling thanks for noticing :)
