The Journey Begins:
Step into the cockpit with Sienna as she embarks on a crucial training session focused on honing her landing skills. With the weather perfectly set for flying-temperature at 11 degrees Celsius and an altimeter setting of 29.58 inches of mercury-every pre-flight check is meticulously executed to ensure a safe and successful practice session. From checking instruments to reviewing weather conditions, the preparation phase highlights the importance of thoroughness and safety in aviation.
Taking to the Skies:
Witness Sienna’s smooth takeoff as she confidently handles the initial climb. This segment underscores essential skills such as power management, maintaining alignment with the runway centerline, and executing precise control inputs. Her growing confidence and skill are evident, setting the stage for the core focus of this episode: landing practice.
Mastering Landings:
Dive into the heart of the video where Sienna practices her landings under the expert guidance of her instructor. Each attempt is carefully analyzed, offering viewers a detailed look at the key components of a successful landing. Learn about managing descent, executing the flare, and the importance of staying aligned with the runway centerline. Real-time corrections and feedback provide invaluable lessons on adjusting for wind drift, maintaining proper airspeed, and making early adjustments for smoother landings.
Real-Time Corrections and Techniques:
Throughout the session, the importance of early adjustments over last-minute corrections is emphasized. Viewers will gain insights into using the balls of the feet for precise rudder control, managing power settings effectively, and maintaining steady descent rates. These practical tips and techniques are essential for any aspiring pilot looking to enhance their landing skills.

This isn’t coming at you by any means. Dude she’s solo ready, don’t hold her back! When I did mine my landings looked nothing like this. The first solo is the lesson that everyone that i’ve known has chosen wether or not they want to me a pilot or not. Let her get that experience.

Just for context, the weather was fine! We are waiting for her dad to get home. These few videos were just a day or so apart, and her dad was gone for like 10 days. We wanted him to be there. He said we didn't have to wait, but that's not very special. Also, I tend to have kinda high standards for my students. It may be because I just want them extra ready, or maybe because I own the airplane and it's kinda my baby. Want to make sure we're extra safe. Truthfully, I saw some concerning things just a few lessons back I wanted corrected. But by this video/lesson, she was overdue for solo.

@@angleofattack Sorry if the ending got confusing, i was meaning “whether or not they want to become a pilot” not the actual weather! Her dad wanting to be there is understandable! Being hard on your students is also understandable , especially with it being your plane and everything, but also at some point you should probably take into account that a student pilots first solo is such a foundational part of training and an feeling like it’s taking too long as a student pilot can be extremely hard on the student! (speaking from experience)

I think it’s different between each individual. I am close to my solo according to my instructor, but I am not worried about it. The moment I learned how to land already sealed the deal for me. I don’t need a solo to prove anything. I would rather spend more time with my instructor to perfect my landings (especially gusty crosswinds).

Sienna's confidence is so much greater now, both with her flying and the radio work! Great job to her and to her fantastic CFI! Not to be "that guy", and I've been out of flying for quite a while, but for radio calls for non-tower controlled airports, shouldn't the first and last thing said be the name of the airport (followed by "traffic")? I.e. "Homer Traffic, Cessna ####, on final for runway ##, Homer". As I said, been out of it for a while, so this may have changed since then, so this is just curiosity! Thanks for the great videos!
