Lois and Clark Superman Goofs, Bloopers, and Trivia Facts

Ойын-сауық

Funny Lois and Clark Superman goofs and bloopers with amazing trivia facts on the 90s superhero television series. Enjoy some bloopers with Clark Kent actor Dean Cain and Lois Lane actress Teri Hatcher. See some of Superman's special effects tricks exposed right in the scene. I also talk about the connections between the 1950s George Reeves Adventures of Superman television series and the 90s Lois and Clark series such as the guest appearances of Jimmy Olsen Jack Larson and Phyllis Coates as Lois Lane's mother as well as all the little verbal tributes they paid to the original series from the fifties.
See the goofs that made it past the final cut to our TV screens and then I talk about my favorite villains of the series, Lex Luthor and Tempus the time traveler from the future who took advantage of H.G. Wells time machine.

There is speculation that Supes doesn't actually lift things but, does it by telekinesis. Example, take a fork and stick it under a cake and try to lift the cake straight up. Of course you have the strength to lift it but the fork passes through because of the weight and density of the cake cannot support it while lifting. Supes couldn't lift anything that is not structurally sound to keep it from collapsing.

Have you ever lifted a chair by the bottom of one leg? It may wobble at first but you’re able to lift it without it toppling. Same premise with the rocket for Supes.

Interesting. Kind of a super balancing act?

  • @kanukki84

"Superman’s body generates a protective bioelectric aura around his body. Due to his superhuman durability he doesn’t require the protection, but this field can be projected onto other people and objects. It’s why heavy objects being lifted don’t buckle under their own weight, or why people he catches in mid air aren’t crushed when they hit his arms, and how he is able to safely move humans at super speeds, without friction and whiplash damaging them. This aura can be projected outwards of his body to create a visible force field around others, and even as a defensive attack, blasting outward force all around him." maybe that explains why that rocket dont flip.

That phenomenon would later be referred to as tactile telekinesis by Superboy.

Interesting. I have read that was used on Lois and Clark somewhere to explain why bullets didn't tear his suit.

@@tvcrazyman I only watched a few episodes of Lois and Clark, so I don't know how they explained his suit but, according to canon, Supes came to earth with blankets that his foster mom made into a suit. Coming from Krypton, the material was indestructible and before anyone says , how did Martha cut the material?! Two thoughts, she found a loose stitch, unrabbled it and knitted, or she had Clark cut it with his heat vision.

@fiddlefaddle1 Yeah that was in the comics before 1986 and I remember having seen one panel that showed Clark helping Martha with the threads using his heat vision.

@@fiddlefaddle1 Yeah, I bet that was changed on Lois and Clark to line up with the 80s John Byrne Revamp. Seems like after that Superman was always getting his cape torn to shreds in the comics.

On the episode 'Don't Tug on Superman's Cape' There is a parody shot inI Love Lucy' style. Superman stands in as Ricky Ricardo and Lois stands in for Lucy. It was a tribute, George Reeves (50's Superman) appeared in a episode of I Love Lucy, titled 'Lucy Meets Superman'.

I think the rocket is the director not thinking it through. They did similar when we had Clark’s “son”. The kid picks up a couch the same way Superman did the rocket; just by one end instead of in the middle.

I vaguely remember Tempus but I preferred Luthor as a villain as he's a personal threat to Superman. However there is one comic that I've always thought would've made a great episode of Lois & Clark: TNAOS. The Superman comic is from September 1987 and it's called 'To Laugh & Die In Metropolis' and the villain is The Joker!

I wasn't born until almost the end of 1957, and, we didn't get that channel anyway. I was 60 years old before I got to see the George Reeves Superman, complete, on DVD! LOL I only saw a few episodes at Comic Cons.

Superman lifting the rocket by one of its boosters, was a play on a circus strongman using one hand to grab hold of a chair by one leg and lifting it straight up without tilting it as a show of strength.

You mentioned this show having very similar episodes to previous Superman shows, but I remember there being even more similar episodes than just the ones you mentioned. Sadly I can’t remember what those episodes were or what they were about, all I know is that they existed and weren’t mentioned here. So if you ever make a part 2 to this then keep an eye out for those.

They’re running an old The adventure. of Superman. Have you seen, season 5 episode 12 “Mr. Zero” Lol they’re using the word “measly” for the very short spaceman from Mars. I don’t know if there was no politically correct term back then. It’s a great episode! The green hair doesn’t show up very vividly 😅
