Cast: Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Richard E. Grant, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal
Film description: In a future where mutants are nearly extinct, Logan, the invincible bestial superhero once known as the Wolverine, finds himself getting old, and his incredible healing ability significantly weakened. As an incognito limo driver, Logan does his best to guard and keep out of sight a weary nonagenarian Professor Charles Xavier. However, things will take an unexpected turn when a cryptic woman asks him to transport the young mutant girl, Laura. A better future lies past the Canadian borders for the unaccompanied teenager, but the government is unwilling to let go of its asset so easily. In the end, can the ageing Logan protect both himself and Laura?

Best Wolverine Movie Ever
The dying lion being made fun of by the rabbit and the fox, "Yes, I'm dying, but I was I lion once" -Aesop's fables I think
This dude thought he was in a totally different movie. Swaggered up with "Main Villain" energy and got unalived real quick.
This is why I love Logan, or rather Hugh Jackman's interpretation of the character. Haven't read any of the comics so I don't know what Comic Logan is like, but here, Logan can often be very unlikable in his attitude, but despite that, being rough around the edges; he shows through his actions that he actually does have a heart. In fact throughout every X-men film, and I think Jackman appeared in all of them, whether as a main character or cameo, not sure because I haven't seen them all, but he shows time and again that he isn't a bad guy, he's just got a lot of anger, that frankly stems from a lot of pain and guilt.

"you've had training" "some" *literally fought in the civil war, both world wars and vietnam before operating on a strike force*
I don’t know how much of the comic character they recognize in this universe. But, he fought in a bunch of wars including WWI and WWII. He worked alongside captain America, and Nick Fury in WWII doing special missions. He was a trained SHIELD espionage agent. He was a trained ninja and assassin and mastered multiple forms of unarmed combat. He was a trained agent of a super powered group of Canadians (project K or something like that … my memory is hazy) before joining the X-Men. He was also a trained assassin with the Weapon X program. They use the memory wipes and his long life as a way to give him story arcs where he can do anything. Then forget those skills and not have to worry about character continuity. Is he just a mindless animal struggling to maintain his humanity? Sure he can be that. Is he a trained espionage agent and silent killer on the level of Black Widow? Yeah. He’s that, too. Is he a wise martial arts master? Sometimes, when it suits the story. Is he a master of modern military weapons and tactics? Sure, why not. There’s one thing this absurdity has on what they do with Batman. Wolverine is superhuman and over a hundred years old. Batman is supposed to be a master of all of those things (martial arts, gymnastics and acrobatics, programming in any language or operating system, multiple types of sciences including different types of life sciences, and I’m sure he’s basically a doctor in a story and basically a lawyer in another, and I’m sure he’s one of the best mechanics and machinists in the world …. And he learned all of that by the age of … what again?

Like 35, he’s not just some dude. Batman is a natural phenom and a super genius, one of the smartest men in the DC universe and completely obsessed with his mission. It’s absolutely possible that Bruce Wayne could become a virtuoso in all of those fields within 15-20 years
@zero11010
5 ай бұрын
@@googul2923 that’s just not how reality works. How many people do you know with a PHD in a field? How about 2 completely different fields? How about a master craftsman? How about a person who is a master craftsman in two completely different fields? He’s not just an accomplished fighter. The world is full of those. They spend their whole lives not just learning how to fight, but maintaining fitness and training. Very few of them actually have time for anything else. I think Dolph Lungrin was a solid martial artist and also had a PHD in one specific field of chemistry. But, MOST martial artists can barely string a sentence together. But, he’s also a master at programming! Cool. What languages? I’ve worked with software engineers who graduated college at 19 and one who graduated at 12. They were genuine geniuses. It’s a thing that still takes up a lot of time because this year new libraries, frameworks, and languages came out. And next year, and the year after that. It requires constant attention to master it and it never ends. Most software engineers work on a small specific area. The ones who can do practically anything make millions per year … they’re scary smart but all they do is software and maybe a couple side hobbies. But he’s also a master mechanic. That takes a lot of years of study. And, not just anything, he knows EVERYTHING. Because he’s also a mechanical engineer! That represents about a decade of learning. Separate from the decade of learning to be a car mechanic and a boat mechanic and a plane mechanic … world class in each. Most car mechanics only work on a small subset of cars. But he is also a master of biology! And not just one small section of it. Multiple! That represents decades of learning. And he’s a master chemist! That represents a good decade of study. And there’s so much more. It’s absurd. And let’s not forget that he keeps up with current events and the news. And, he’s still got some time to be Bruce Wayne and show up to things regularly. He’s walking around with how many centuries of knowledge that he gained in … what … 25 years? His first handful of years wouldn’t amount to a lot of practical learning if he’s 35. So … each year he gains a decade of expertise in a new field. But, he’s also keeping current on everything in all those other fields … because if you’re in any STEM field doing real work and you look away for a couple years you’ll barely recognize where things are a few years later. It takes CONSTANT upkeep and maintenance in each of these very specific areas of expertise. But, let’s not forget what it actually takes to stay in really good shape and practice like any tier 1 athlete or special forces soldier would … it eats up hours of every single day. Let’s not forget the time professional drivers and pilots spend just maintaining those skills once they’ve been learned. This is nonsense. This is Harry Potter level nonsense. If you’re happy with that … no problem! But, it should be recognized that what they have Batman doing isn’t human. That’s cool. They have aliens and monsters and wizards. But … Batman just isn’t human … or he is human but doesn’t know most of that crap even as the smartest human on the planet. I stopped reading comics about 25 years ago. At the time Marvel handled it a little differently. The smartest people in the Marvel world would be a master in a field and just dabble in others. It was STILL not really believable, but I don’t think (at the time) they had anyone who was supposed to be a really smart but otherwise normal human who just … knew everything. Let’s look at two of the smartest humans who ever lived … Newton and Hawking. How many fields of study were they involved in? Did they each pretty much stick to two areas? Math and science where one is really needed for the other? I think this is why Christopher Nolan’s Batman worked so well. He was a smart guy. But, other people made all of his stuff. He wasn’t the master mechanic, or programmer, or chemist, or biologist. He wasn’t the mechanical engineer and this that and the other.
@googul2923
5 ай бұрын
@@zero11010 I don’t necessarily disagree with those points but you said it yourself, they have aliens monsters and wizards flying around and Batman is supposed to be able to believably contend with all of them. That’s why he is written as an almost mythically powerful character, I’m not saying what he does would be possible in real life. Obviously not, but he is supposed to represent the peak potential of what a human is capable of mentally and physically, specifically in the elevated reality that is comic books. It depends on the adaptation but most versions of Batman depict him as a once in a millennia kind of specimen, that’s why characters like Ras Al Ghul and Vandal Savage are so obsessed with him. That’s just what the character is about, it’s not “harry potter nonsense” it’s perfectly in line with world he occupies.
