Log Burner. Home made cardboard logs for log burner and how to make them. Make these with no tools
Ойын-сауық
How I make log briquettes logs from cardboard boxes, cut into strips, soaked over night and then rolled up. They then need to be left to dry out. They burn nice and clean with no smoke. Not as good as wood of course but nice to use every 3rd log once the fire is burning nicely. Obviously check with your local authority regarding different rules on burning. No tools or presses needed to make these.

Thank you for this! Why does everyone else make this so difficult!?!

Exactly!!!
I had a lot of cardboard piling up in my garage and was wondering if I could put it to good use instead of sending it out for recycling. This simple and easy idea is just what I was looking for. Thanks!
Brilliant idea I shall try this. Gots lots of cardboard to get rid of, now it can keep me warm as it burns away:)

Thanks Marcus. Nice learning curve with the video editor. :)
Fantastic! I have a paper brick maker but was wondering what to do with our huge pile of boxes. This is just terrific - thank you!

great. Cut the cardboard an inch smaller than you normally need to fit in the log burner and they will swell a little whilst they soak. Best boxes i have found so far are amazon and any of the softer cardboard boxes.

Do you use these for Woodburner and how long does each one burn for. At low air intake.

yes, on the woodburner. 1hour to 1.5hours. They look like they have gone out but glow red hot in the middle. :)

Is the painted card that most groceries come in any good for this? (Like a box that beer cans come in)

I would avoid painted card as it may give off nasty fumes.
I'm curious, what is the burn time like on the one you made?
@saltylug

an hour max
Hello friend - what is the burn time? The reason for compressing them with a press is to increase burn time.

burn time.....How long is a piece of string. The more you can compress, the longer the burn. If you have a press then great. My method is with no tools. Happy Burning.
Isn’t there nasty chemicals in cardboard though ?
I have around 200 paper bags and no tools. How would I burn them ?

So you can’t soak the cardboard in the area where your rolling ?
@saltylug

of course you can. I just happened to have the container full of water short distance
Yeah, but how does it burn though? Good in theory but how about in actual use? Need to see a video of the burn rate.
