Lot of comments here about vocals which personally I thought were fine [all things considered] the real issue is stage managment. If the drums are not centre stage then at the very least the bassist should be close to the drummer, enough to glance and nod. Essentially VERY professional musicians yet, that doesn't make a 'band'. Simply placing the musicians (as I've said) on stage to encourage chemestry which 'should' deliver energy (helps when the drumer is working hard enough to take off his flat-cap). In short, 'someone' took their eye off the ball. ENERGY With energy the performance gels, Ian is perfectly at liberty to create arrangments of ANY of the JT catalogue to suit his vocal 'later-life' range. I've attended 'Tull' gigs in the past that were stunning. A little stage-craft and tweaks to the arrangments is all that's needed to blow the punters off their seats. To say this was a very professional gig should be a compliment; not just a fact, which it is.

Ian as always up front, but not my Tull going back to Mick.

Jack Clark did well; some of the choices from the seven decades left me wondering (aloud) but nonetheless an enjoyable evening. Just such a shame about Ian’s vocals😢. So weak; watery and not up to it. Hire a singer who can give these iconic songs the power/delivery/ performance they deserve.

His flute is still as brilliant as ever, if not more. But yes, I saw them twenty years ago in Amsterdam, and I was a bit annoyed by the way Ian constantly sang behind the beat. I see it’s gotten worse. Then again, the guy’s pushing 80 and still performing with gusto. That’s not something you see everyday.

@@peterdefrankrijker Morning Peter; now don`t me wrong; I am delighted that Ian is still on the road after all these years. I have had the privilege to see them on every UK tour since March 1972, with TAAB. My issues are that vocally, he simply cannot cut it any longer. He is not blessed like Roger D or Tom Jones, whose vocal muscles are seemingly untouched by age. Ian cannot have it both ways; he wants to cover the classic songs but they are over 50 years old. Why not stick to songs that are much more in his range? COAK/ CR/ RTB/ etc? The reason is vanity...that desire/drive to go out 200+ times per year and deliver. `Time and tide doth wait for no man` and after seeing Phil Collins last year looking like a frail/withered old man (Why didn`t they do `The Musical Box` ) it would break my heart to see Ian go the same way. `Too Old to Rock/Roll`?? I think the answer is yes...

@@NickBayley-iq4gb Hi Nick, I think it may be a matter of what you’re expecting. You mention Phil Collins. I was moved to tears (that doesn’t happen often anymore) when he sang Against All Odds, sitting in that chair, giving his all. I know of Phil’s nerve injuries, of the struggles with his back and his knees. I know he’s not gonna hit the high notes. I know he’s not gonna jump around screaming Sussudio. I just want to hear that man sing, possibly the last time I get the chance to. And I love seeing Ritche Blackmore play his lute, even though I would prefer seeing him perform Highway Star. I hated seeing Knopfler during his last performance on KZread. He looked bored, mumbled his lyrics and totally butchered his guitar parts. Money For Nothing was just terrible. I wish I hadn’t seen that. Oh and by the way, Roger D, I guess you mean Daltrey? He has the screams of Won’t Get Fooled Again pre-recorded, and that’s such a let down for me. I hope you see I’m not trying to be contrarian here. I just like to see the old war horses I grew up with before they kick the proverbial bucket. As long as they don’t embarrass themselves, that is. Ian Gillan’s vocal cords tore themselves to shreds in the early eigthties and he’s been pretty much unlistenable since, so I’ll pass on that one. But Robert Plant has changed his repertoire to fit his vocal cords, which I’m perfectly okay with. I’m envious that you got to see so many great gigs in your life. I’m from 1970 so I stepped in later. And I’m Dutch, so the gigs of my favourite bands were few and far between. I would have loved to see Deep Purple mkII live, and Zeppelin, and The Who, old Genesis, Talking Heads, Queen and Bowie and Zappa and 80s Iron Maiden.

People do get old you know. A lot of rockers didn't make it past 27.

@@bigdambluesband6295 I think you have missed my point...Ian Anderson will always mean so much to me and its that fact that made me so upset last Monday. It would appear he wants it both ways; play the iconic songs many of which are 50 plus years old but not deliver them with the same verve, power and splendour. Nothing wrong with getting old; but can you still rock and roll?

Unfortunately i don't even need to listen to this to know how excruciatingly bad it will be. I'm sure the musicianship will be top notch, although a bit 'paint by numbers', but Ian should have stopped singing, or rather trying to sing, years ago. Very sad that he's milking the Tull legacy like this.

Awful. Nothing without Martin and Doane.

Come on, they beat out Metallica one year, they at least deserve a listen!!!!!!!! You'll be the better from it.
