I have channels where I experience zero ads. Here I have ads interrupting in the middle of songs. In the middle of songs! That's unforgiveable no matter what. The explanations some channels give is that youtube controls all of that. The first time I tried to write this rant, an ad interrupted the comment as well, so I rewrote it because to shut off the ad, my comment got erased. The explanations I'm hearing no longer wash. I call bull.

You destroyed an iconic Tull album , by putting commercials right smack in the middle of this absolute gem of an album. You should be ashamed for doing this. A commercial between songs , OK , but not in the MIDDLE of great music. PS - Think beyond the almighty dollar , and be a decent human being. Just saying. Extremely disappointed.

Baker St Muse has always been a special song for me, my ex-GF who sadly passed away last year from cancer lived in a flat just off Baker Street and Blandford Street when we first met back in the late 80s so it has a special meaning to me.

I was 9 when my brothers gf gave him tAAB 1 And no one would come near me ! Lol So I use to sneak it in between the carpenters ! Lol Still my # 1 band .. met Ian & his band(s) at the time !! A true gentleman!!!
I think that Tull fans (KZread cover artists performers) are helping to carve out his permanent legacy of rock superstars, may exceed musical genius of Beatles, Rush, Stones....Ian's collection of Virtuoso musicians. I just discovered a young female bass player who covers Tull (Heavy Horses; Black Sunday). Her love of his compositional genius shows on her face; comes through in her enjoyment of playing these songs, It's a pleasure to see youth memorializing this music.
I have seen Jethro Tull close 2 20 times. I still have my ticket stubs. I have around 140 ticket stubs. I have my first concert when I was 12 years old. It was Deep Purple. 1972 at THE IMA Auditorium in Flint Mi.

Top ten to be sure. For awesome sounding heavy prog rhythm guitar work, I think it's #!1! Unfortunately 90% of the album remainder satisfies some of the worst stuff they ever put out. Predominantly horrible DULL Tull led by uncharacteristic pathetic whining from Ian after track 1. It's like a buying a lemon of car, appealing exterior but garbage under the hood ("The Lemon in Jethro Tull's Gallery"). The Minstrel song though is absolute RIPPING good! But a good album in my book must feature more than half of its songs as being good. If it can't do that it's not a good album no matter how good the 'good' songs are.

@@joeblog2672 I think Cold Winds of Valhalla and Fancy Black dancer are good, but after that there is a significant drop off for me as well. Baker Street Muse certainly doesn't justify the 16 minute duration by any means.

@@RushAss I'm not sure of the song names but as you say there were a couple decent tracks after minstrel (I'm sure you know the album better than me. I listened through it about 1.5 times). They should have kept up that heavy edge much more through the album. I heard a little bit of the edge after minstrel (maybe one or both songs you mentioned). The contrast here sort of reminds me of Deep Purple's album Stormbringer in 1974. If you are familiar with the album, you may recall it starting off with the song "Stormbiringer", a heavy driving beat with some ripping vocals by Coverdale and Glen Hughes. After that it went real poppy / funky for most of the remainder. It had a couple of heavy tunes left (Lady Double Dealer and High Ball Shooter) though nothing to match the title track. That album was still a very good one. Can't say the same for Tull's effort here, though I can't say enough just how ripping a track Minstrel.. Is!!

Hard to decide. All Tull albums are so different and all so good! Aqualung is powerful, Benefit different and still so Jethro Tull, Thick as a Brick is deep;, A Passion Play is a masterpiece, War Child was a more rockers album, Minstrel in the gallery is melodic and funny, The list doesn't go down forever; after The Broadsword and The Beast it was up and down, even though they got a Grammy for best metal band with Rock Island, which was really good, and made the sorts of Metallica unhappy, Jethro Tull lives forever.

Sigo a Tull desde 1970, cuando se editó Stand Up en Argentina. Fue el primer album aquí, y segundo en su cronología.. Meses después se editó This Was.

Great list! My personal choices would be: 1. Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here". Stand alone #1. I'm a fanatic Pink Floyd devotee. Can't help myself. 2. The Eagles "One Of These Nights". 3. (Three Way Tie) Bob Dylan "Blood On The Tracks", Led Zeppelin's “Physical Graffiti” and Jethro Tull's "Minstrel In The Gallery". Honorable mentions would include: Aerosmith "Toys In The Attic", Queen "A Night At The Opera", Roxy Music "Siren", and The Who's "The Who By Numbers". I'm 67 now and have probably forgotten other very deserving albums and bands to add to my list of vintage/classic rock music. And you are correct ... 1975 was indeed a great year (Annus Mirabilis) for rock albums and artists. Many thanks for the upload! Grace, Peace and Blessings.

My Top 10 '75 albums in order: Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy (Elton John) Sabotage (Black Sabbath) Rock of the Westies (Elton John) Toys in the Attic (Aerosmith) Physical Graffiti (Led Zeppelin) Come Taste the Band (Deep Purple) Hair of the Dog (Nazareth) A Night at the Opera (Queen) Journey (Journey) A Trick of the Tail (Genesis) Honourable Mentions (not ordered): Fandango (ZZ Top) In Trance (Scorpions) Young Americans (David Bowie) Stampede (Doobie Brothers)
