7A's Return to Steam for 2024
Puffing Billy Railway
Hello all,
Welcome to a Victorian heritage train video, today we are back at the Puffing Billy Railway, capturing a rather unique occasion. On the 26th and 27th of June, locomotive 7A was returned to service after an almost two-year hiatus. During this period, maintenance work was carried out, however it was pushed out into service early with the arrival of this year's Train of Lights season. Due to the earlier return to service, the locomotive, although mechanically ready, looked rather different, still being in primer. For both days, 7A operated the 1415 service from Belgrave.
This video captures the locomotive and service on the second day of operation. Since filming, the locomotive has been taken back out of service to undergo the final touches.

The Puffing Billy Railway is Victoria’s most famous tourist railway. Located in the Dandenong Ranges, the railway is 15.6 miles (25.1 km) long, operating with their original locomotives from over 100 years ago.
