Oh wow, I expected this to be way bigger and possibly uncomfortable to hold. I'm definitely upgrading to this. Rodríguez' art style gives a visual reinforcement to the story being about kids, with adults as the secondary characters. That was something that was lost in the adaptation, I watched an interview with the showrunners and they talked about wanting to change the direction of some adult characters which made me think they didn't understand which made the comic unique.

I already own the slipcase set but I am here to support the channel regardless. Love you guys.

This turned out quite nice. I think they missed a trick not labelling this an omnibus; people would've jumped on it more readily.

I LOVE Rodriguez art in L&K. I think it makes the story soooo perfect. This is hands down my most favorite comic ever. I didn’t have a ton of comics under my belt when I read this in 2019 and I’ve read way more comics now and I still love it. I already have these in the master editions and I really think I’m getting this.

Hey Omar, The Golden Age HC coming out later in the year says it contains three standalone tales, as well as In Pale Battalions Go & the full Sandman crossover.

Never read it. Never seen the show. Just know lots of people really like it. Love that we're getting a compendium that's oversized. Definitely picking this up.

Just read volume 1 on comixology..I'm so getting this..and as usual it's so much better than the series on Netflix..great review as always Onar..!!

Have read the first 2 books in the master edition vol 1 set.. thought it was a fantastic series so far and can’t wait to read more!!

I originally bought the paperback slipcase, on your recommendation. After reading it I fell in love, and this is my favorite story in all media. I upgraded to the Master Editions. I'm considering getting this as well. I may have a problem. I will definitely get the one in November for sure though. I only have those in standard hardcover.

Thanks. Had an eye on this one, was waiting for a review video. I have read first 3 or 4 issues, just couldn't get into it. The cartoony art style is not my favorite type either. But almost everyone says good things about this series, so still want a try, maybe when there is a great deal.

If have never seen the show nor know anything about this series. But after reading your recommended harrow county I can't wait to pick this up.😊

I got it this morning in the UK. Weirdly I was sent two by mistake from Speedyhen. I'll need to send one back.

I'll be getting this to upgrade from my paperbacks because of how much trouble I've been having with them. I've had pages fall out of 3 of them after 1 read (No idea if im just unlucky of if IDW paperbacks commonly have this issue), which is insane. Needless to say, seeing that quality binding was relieving.

Glad I took a gamble and preordered it on OPB. Now if IDW would just publish a companion compendium that contains Small World, Heaven & Earth, and the upcoming Golden Age HCs... (Also - flat spine! heckin yes!)

It's a very lived-in story. Sometimes he wants to set something up and there isn't any payoff for it. But, I'd be damned if that's a criticism. Good stuff.

Never read Locke & Key.... haven't watched the Netflix series or anything like that. Thanks to this video, however, this is my first completely blind buy since Aliens Vol. 1 Omnibus.

Locke and Key is one of the best comic books ever!!! If you haven't read it, get your hands on it however you can, it is amazing. The story is much better than in the TV show. Gorgeous, detailed art! I have all the issues and all the HC and I'm totally buying the Compendium too.

I loved this book when it came out. I have the first three hardcovers of the series so I never got to finish it. Wanted to pick up the slipcover edition but didn't want to double dip so this is great. Can't wait to add this to my collection.

My copy of L&K Golden Age arrived and it does collect the sandman crossover. Shame it’s standard size hardcover though

I also say Bode (rhyme with code) and it wasn't until Volume 5 (Clockworks) I looked up and watched an interview about the show and found out it's pronounced Bodeeee (emphasis on the E sound) "Bo-Dee". but i'm so used to saying Bode now that it's hard to switch over in my head! Glad I'm not the only one that pronounced it this way but apparently Joe Hill intended it to be Bo-Deee. LOL

My copy started to crack in the crease between the cover and the spine. It just begun after stretching the spine. Then after reading 100 pages it’s more noticeable. Is this common or my copy is faulty? First time this happen to me having a lot of hardcovers.

One of the best comics ever! "The tv show kinda ... s.u.c.k.s" was what I thought you were gonna say Omar, because that doesn't even deserve to be called Locke & Key. That's also why I haven't checked out Sweet Tooth (tv show) yet. Really want this one, but will stick to my three OHCs instead.

I watched the TV show first and loved it. Then read the series and was truly blown away by how amazing it was! Then I wished they would’ve made it more dark/true to the story. But glad I watched it first as I enjoy them both for different reasons.

Is that just a matte black on Cap or is it something else? The black doesn’t look the same as the other Marvel omnibus.

Does this have all the actual story volumes? Nothing has been cut out?

Have this book and the golden age. Yep the golden age is a crossover with sandman a classic. Overall a good graphic novel. Definitely not for kids

It's been released in 3 ohcs in my country so I'll pass on this but it's beautiful. Although I like the all in one edition, so never say never.

The build of the book looks great. I'm trying to decide whether to get this version or the master edition. From what I've seen they're both oversized so it comes down to the build and production quality of the books. What would you guys recommend?

I obviously don't have this compendium HC, but I did not like the Masters Edition for some reason. Binding was a little tight and there were barely any extras. I like the look of this one, so I'm definitely getting it.

hey Omar i know this doesn’t have anything to do with the video, but i was wondering if you have ever read a manga called Death Note. It is my personal all time favorite.

Are the pages in the compendium actual pages, like the one's you'll find in any other book? Like, actually well binded pages, just got the comic book set, and a couple of the pages came right out.

I bought this one in digital. Then TPBs. Then I found the HCs. I think I’ll stop rather than getting this-but it does look very nice and takes up less shelf space!

I'm confused why Heaven & Earth doesn't seem to be in this or the Golden Age book??

Gabriel Rodriguez studied as an architect & I love the way he draws buildings . I have the 6 standard hardcovers & will stick with those. I would only up-grade if it were printed at Absolute size.

I dunno if you'll ever read this comment, but in case you do, may you tell me which version would you suggest to buy between the compendium (showcased in this video) and the slipcase (paperback volumes, not hardcover ones)? They cost the same in my country, but I'm scared the compendium might be waaaaay too delicate or too hard to handle. Also, is there a big difference in the pictures sizes or the frame around them (in the compendium) shrink them down to a similar size of the paperbacks? Hope you gonna answer, thanks in advice ✌️

The trades are in standard edition. So the Compendium has oversized artwork. As far as a big difference? Not really a big difference. I think the trades are more manageable since you are worried about the built of the Compendium.

Been on the fence on this for a while; mostly because I don't like the artwork. Compendium looks nice, though. Other publishers should take notes.

I have the Masters... I wish this collected SOMETHING extra so I coukd justify it..

Me too I already have the master editions. I like the cloth bookmark and the arts already the same size, so no reason to upgrade

I've heard nothing but good things about this run but decided to check out the Netflix series first. The premise is great. The show is bad. Really, really bad. So I'm going to the source and picking this up. Thanks, Omar.

I've tried to read Locke & Key 3 times and own the first Master edition, but I really cannot get into it. Not only do I not feel an affinity for any of the characters, I actually actively dislike most of them. Cannot believe just how terrible the decision making of these characters are, and couldn't bring myself to read beyond the third arc. But I'm glad that it's coming out in this format for those who love the series!

I own all 3 Master editions and I liked the series overall because it is unique and it has great artwork, but the characters decision making seriously holds it back. Its one thing when a character is supposed to be an idiot, but the majority of the character kept making dumb decisions all the way to the end. If the characters didn't keep making dumb decisions, the writer would have to get more creative with the story, but those constant stupid decisions makes this series a 6/10 instead of 9+/10.

shitty opinion buuuud. some of the best art in comics i've ever seen. what you smoking bud. I do know what you mean though - it takes some getting used to but maaaan when it hits, its truly stunning. I'm a huge fan of it now. This series is a masterpiece imho

Heard so much about this and was ready to order but... that art. I don't like it. It looks like that goofy horror 2000's nu art from the Freddy vs Jason and vs Ash comics. I don't think I could take the story seriously. Flame away. :( Maybe I saw some bad example pages.

Tried real hard to like Locke and Key… loved the premise, but did NOT like it when I read it. Feel like it was way over rated. Frustrating characters, political agendas and bad dialogue. Of course that’s just one fellas opinion. Still glad the fans got the hardcover “omnibus” they wanted. 👍

It took me a while to get used to the art. That was my only issue with it. The show, I watched one episode and that was enough for me.

the show sucked... lucifer show sucked .. its a chick show.... enders game movie was horrible. UGH
