I always thought that it made no sense that there are no translators for the Tidewater and Eastern NC stations on the Outer Banks.

OBX is beautiful, but watching TV there might be a nightmare...

Cable or Satellite are a must there.

As a native Hampton Roader, I can say that WPMC is not another WAVY translator, but a translator of WVBT.

Well, the results of the FCC repack are out. None of those Class A stations sold their spectrum. None! If only I went to business school, then I'd understand the brilliant reason WAVY and WVBT keep spending money on translators that don't improve their coverage. If only I had that kind of $$$ to waste. ;)

Installing translators in areas like the Outer Banks of NC where the signals of all of the stations are either very weak or nonexistent (beyond WUND) would be much wiser since there's no TV reception available beyond internet streaming, cable, and satellite and they all go out when Hurricanes hit the area and many people are walking away from cable and satellite TV services as it is. All of the Tidewater stations have translators on the upper part of the Eastern Shore (Onancock) and that area is as just as far away from the Norfolk metro area as the OBX.

Those translators though are in 480i(SD) versus 1080p(HD) correct? They look like it, likely to cram them all onto one signal(bandwidth).

+Timothy Parry Jr All the WAVY translators are 16:9 HD. W18EG-D seems to be SD since the graphics were cut off (the TV was stretching the frame to 16:9).

Looks like you got your most common Hampton Roads station when you were in NYC! BTW, what does Vero Beach'd mean?

+Jonathan Hernandez (TheNESTLEH2) In 2012 (before I recorded the things) I did a bandscan for West Palm Beach and hopped up the coast as far as Vero Beach, which had listings for about a dozen low-power DTV stations, including some at just a few watts. Intrigue became disappointment when none of the promised stations were actually on-the-air. Buxton was the same thing. I drove well out of my way to check out a cluster of low-power stations and ended up with nothing. At least it was good site for the AM and FM scans.
