Unfortunately, South Africa's lack of law enforcement attracts criminals from around the world, not just other African countries. South Africa has become a haven for criminals. With the amount of excessive violent crime, I feel that most South Africans then put all the foreign Africans into the same box out of the need for self preservation. This is a very sensitive topic guys. I feel you need to tread lightly. I would like to give a little food for thought. Whilst I was travelling in Scotland, I met a Nigerian gentleman living there with whom I went on a dinner date. It was during the peak of the "Xenophobia" and Nigeria were threatening to close SA business in Nigeria. I made a joke with him and said "You know our countries are not friendly at the moment?" and he laughed and said "Yes, I understand. You are dealing with all the Nigerians we do not want in Nigeria." I, personally, do not like to participate too much in politics, but, through my personal experiences living in the CBD, I felt he had a valid point.

As soon as I heard that "South Africans are lazy," it was pretty clear this guy doesn't know much about what's going on in South Africa even though he claims to be from here. He's just throwing out some unfounded ideas he probably picked up from social media. Personally, as a South African through and through I have to respectfully disagree. South Africans have plenty of skills and there's really nothing that "illegal" foreigners have that we don't. The reason you see a lot of companies hiring foreigners here is because they're willing to take low paying jobs just to make ends meet. So it's not about us being lazy, it's about survival for them. That's why companies can get away with paying them less.

That man is not a Local South African, the accent gives it away. We don't know why our African brothers are continuously painting us black, excuse the pun. Most of our African brothers don't know how much we had to fight off the mistreatment from Europeans which they allow, because of desperation. I’m soo disappointed in Freedom Chasers what insult is this? That guy is not South African for starters. Secondly why must open borders be practice here in South Africa only? Tribalism and xenophobia is the same thing. South Africa doesn’t have a tribalism issue I grew up in vosloorus surrounded by all tribes and we get along very well I speak 7 languages cause we learn from each other. South Africans never went to Zimbabwe or Nigeria during the struggle of apartheid for shelter we stayed and we died for our freedom and our parents got jailed and beaten daily. We owe African countries nothing cause they never helped us with anything but problems. Angola and Libya are the only African countries that supported ANC and MKVA during the struggle. We got the highest unemployment rate in the world and you expect us to give 19 million foreigners jobs while our people suffer? Why do we always have problems with Nigeria and Zimbabweans when it comes to crime? They kill, rob, hijack, kidnap and sell drugs like no other human on earth. We got a budget of 96 Billion Rands on public health that only takes care of 48 million South Africans now they flood our hospitals like crazy all African countries run to South Africa to give birth and steal medicines. How can you give birth to 10 kids alone if you can’t afford them? Zimbabweans are tiring I won’t pretend. On the issue of being discriminated because of not going to initiation. we all know that happens even within the ethnic group, because of tradition and takes place in the Farms/Rural areas, it can never happen in the Townships/City Xhosa is one of the ethnic people's group. If a Xhosa boy doesn't go to initiation school they know Farm girls who are very traditional will not go out with them. Saying Tribalism exists in South Africa is false my opinion.

If Black South Africans come from Congo, why is it that there are NO Zulus, Xhosas, Tswanas, in Congo? Our languages is related the same way a German and Dutch are related. No one knows about the past, we will simply make theories which are not necessarily true. We are told that humanity started in SA, hence we have Cradle of Mankind. In Southern Africa that is why we have prehistoric people that you cannot find anywhere in the world. They are called the "Masarwa" in Botswana and Khoi-San in South Africa. Majority of them live in SA, but today you get too many fake Khoisan especially in the coloured community who claim to be from KhoiKhoi or San community.

This conversation. I promise you we love our brothers and neighbouring countries...but hell I understand the frustration from people who are living in abject poverty who cannot even find jobs and then are being exploited and fighting for resources with illegal immigrants and others streaming in through the borders. This speaks of a useless and ineffective government . But ultimately the fights will be fought in these communities. So I understand why people are angry. Also if you look at the violent crimes and bad behaviour ...tons of it is by foreigners.and we aren't allowed to say anything. But imagine if you as a South African try to misbehave in other countries...omw .. death penalty and harsh prison sentences. So ultimately it's about bad governance.

So people will kill each other for dwindling resources. And the locals will have animosity towards those coming in. Ad no one seems to see that. Another thing, tribalism, only people from tribalistic countries would look at how we interact with one another as tribalism. These People wish that we hated each other that much so that they can have something to identify with. Now ,What was the cause of Xenophobia. =The Apartheid regime ,the system of laws that was introduced against blacks in South Africa made some to be close minded ,to not trust other people from other countries and to remain vigilant and suspicious of them. Operation Dudula and it's Activities on Foreigners : This Operation was created to get rid of foreigners who came with bad intentions to bring drugs to our society and hire criminals to do their work and remove immigrants who are here illegally and are part of those who are ruining our country. It's the same saying when Barack Obama during his debate on Immigrants in America,that yes Immigrants will be allowed to enter and start their Normal American dream in America but only those with good intentions and with no criminal record ,same as Donald Trump ,when he said he will build a wall against Mexican and they will pay for it ,and that was created to avoid having illegal immigrants because some of them have bad intentions.
