Chuck Mulligan is an Anne Arundel County resident who, at just 80-years young, is looking to make fitness history by shattering the U.S. Power Lifting Association’s bench press record for his age. FOX 5's David Kaplan spoke exclusively with Mulligan about his inspiration journey.

I came on KZread to find this story. I read it on my news . This man is absolutely incredible. The mind over everything is awesome. He's strong as an ox.. 80 years young and he's an absolute beast. I got my motivation for the whole weekend.. God bless n I hope he kicks the shit out of cancer. Respect 2 n iron brother
Chuck, I know you are experiencing challenges with health. I sincerely hope that those issues are behind you now, and you have no restrictions on your ability to work out and compete. I wish you only the best on the road to this summer's competition. I do have Doctor imposed restrictions since my moderate stroke in May 2021 about 1 month before my 72nd birthday. Prior to the stroke in 2021 I had deadlifted 375 lbs and on a seated bench press machine moved 330 lbs. Now I'm limited to 220 deadlift and seated bench machine 200. But I keep at it, like you... it's ingrained in us. Good luck Chuck.
One of the most impressive physical feats I have ever seen. Every year at that age is astronomically significant when it comes to physical fitness. Kudos to the man; the benches more at 80 than majority of all men.
