NAIL THE MIX is an online mixing school created by Joey Sturgis, Joel Wanasek and Eyal Levi - the guys who produced bands like TDWP, Chelsea Grin, Blessthefall, Machine Head, Monuments, Miss May I, Of Mice & Men, Reflections, Born Of Osiris, Asking Alexandria and dozens more of this generation's best metal bands.
Every month, NAIL THE MIX members get exclusive access to the REAL MULTI-TRACK SESSIONS from a REAL ALBUM, and a 6-8 hour live streaming class from the producer who mixed it. These are the actual sessions by bands like Gojira, Meshuggah, Periphery, Papa Roach, Machine Head, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember and more - and NTM is the only place in the world you'll get access to them!

That snare.....damn! So tasty!
I want the instrumental so bad
Damn, I could've sworn that "Sha 3" was old mate's vocal.
Cool sounds. I think it just gets drowned in the mix though.

I appreciate them as little Easter eggs. I've listened to this album about 100 times and wasn't even aware of these.

@@kurtisa.murray2711if you took all of the rest out, you’d notice. It’s what builds the atmosphere even if it’s not in the forefront of the track

@@FhowEpisodes the point of mixing is to make it so things are audible and not all fighting for the same space. The entire concept of "if you removed everything else" is ignorant. If I removed everything but the guitar, of course Id hear the guitar. But if you cant hear the guitars in the full mix you are literally not a good mixer. Same goes for all texture layers. If all its doing is adding mush underneath and its completely inaudible, then its not helping a mix. Its only there because this dude doesnt have a clue what hes actually doing and hes riding the wave of getting lucky enough to have worked with a couple bands who blew up on their own despite his incoherent mixes. George isnt a mix engineer. Hes a producer. A fine producer sure. But mixing is not his forte clearly. Not asking for random noises to be in the forefront...im saying if its literally inaudible and you have OVER 100 TRACKS OF THIS STUFF then you are not doing your job very well.

@@voyantcreative my point is that it’s not completely inaudible at all, you can hear each of these things in this video if you listen for them, along with the rest of the samples and layers in the background.

Listening on my Kali LP 6's that snare sounds like a total opposite of the St. Anger snare.
