LMS 3F Jinty 16440 Launch Weekend - 29/06/2024

The last weekend of June saw Midland Railway Butterley's newly overhauled flagship LMS Fowler 3F Jinty 16440 return to passenger hauling service for the first time in 16 years, now outshopped in LMS Crimson Lake Livery.
16440 was the last steam locomotive to be restored at Derby Works in 1973, and ran the inaugural passenger service at Butterley in 1981. She is one of three LMS Fowler 3F Jinty locomotives based at the railway, along with 47327 & 47445.
Filmed on a Panasonic VXF990 with a RODE Mic Microphone.

Excellent video. Really hope they have 16440 running on the vintage train over the August bank holiday weekend. Will look brilliant!

Super film, very pleased to see 16440 in service again. Wonder if she’d do the SVR autumn steam gala perhaps. Cheers and keep up the great work - Alex
