A los mayores se les nota que da la sensación de que tienen menos fluidez o que les cuesta más hablar en inglés que en español, y con los jóvenes justo lo contrario.

Veo esto y pienso en Puerto Rico porque vivimos sometidos igual a un imperio (ellos allá con UK y nosotros acá con USA)

As an American living in the border between Mexico and the US, most people here speak like them, not the accent but the switching between English and Spanish. Speaking English at school and Spanish at home. Listening to them talk felt like a normal conversation that you’d have with someone here.

The difference is that they are not from Spain. They are british people, but from the península. Gibraltar is british but is very little. A years ago they use to go to Spain to buy diferent and cheaper food or going to the cinema. Also Spanish people usually go to find a Job there But living in Spain, so they live cheaper Life earning more than the others.

Spanglish is pretty normal everywhere there are Hispanics and Anglos living in close proximity. Llanito is basically fancy Spanglish

In South Texas that language is called Tex mex. Some localized food is like that. There are some South Texas foods that I can't get anywhere else, either in Mexico or further North of the border like in Louisiana or Eastward into Mississippi, such as Carnegusada. different from Carneasada.

I was today years old when I found out about "Llanito", and I think it's the most beautiful thing about the mix of Spanish and English people.

This is like the OG Spanglish. It’s interesting to see how they go back and forth and compare it to the Spanglish in the USA.

Just found out about Gibraltar and this language is so mind blowing. Their accent switch is just amazingggg. I love it. Thanks for sharing this video!

la verdad me fascina como hablan, te pueden estar hablando en perfecto inglés fluido, se gira y le dice al otro tacuerda en perfecto español con todo el acento.

Lol. No offense, this sounds nothing like Puerto Rican. Sounds just like how it is, British English with Spanish from Spain. Regardless we already do this switch of English and Spanish in U.S.

@@angelgregio Yo soy Puertorriqueño y también vivo en Florida, EEUU. Hay un parecido porque nuestro español estuvo influenciado por el Español Andaluz, también. Aunque el nuestro es el más parecido al Canario (Un territorio insular también influenciado por el Andaluz) Si buscas vídeos de los isleños de Louisiana vas a ver el parecido con el Llanito de Gibraltar. 🇵🇷❤️🇬🇮💚🇮🇨💛🇪🇸💙🇪🇺🤍🇬🇧

Me encanta ver cómo hablan estos dos ancianos llanitos. Al de la boina se le nota un poco más español. Al otro señor se le ven más rasgos británicos y tiene una mayor tendencia a hablar en inglés.

I had no idea that this happened in any other place in the world. I'm Puerto Rican and was born and raised in the United States of America in Chicago. And my sisters and I speak this way when we talk to each other only. If I'm with Americans well I'll speak perfect English, if I'm with Hispanics, then I'll speak perfect Spanish but I tend to mix it among my siblings.

I enjoyed listening to these two gentlemen. Sus historias son asombrosas. I visited Gibraltar back in 2008 and would love to volver, a visitar el Peñón. Que tal my llanito? hahaha jajajajaa

Mis hijos hablan perfecto español e ingles. Niños que crecen en la frontera tienen esa facilidad y cambian de uno a otro idioma sin pensar.

Pero, en las fronteras anglo-hispanas se impone más el ingles en las nuevas generaciones, solo en los casos en que los adultos hispanohablantes les obligan a aprender español a las nuevas generaciones, lo aprenden.

@@jp---- yo inmigre desde el Ecuador a Maryland de pequeña. Mis papis me obligaron aprender el español y solo lo hablábamos en casa. Intento lo más posible comunicarme en español cuando hablo en español pero aveces cuando no recuerdo una palabra o si hay un ditching o una frase en inglés que puede mejor explicar lo que estoy comunicando si hablo “Spanglish”. También me a pasado que estoy hablando en inglés pero hay un dicho en español que mejor explica lo que estoy diciendo. Entonces cambio de idioma. Obvio la persona tiene que ser bilingüe para entender.

I’m definitely moving to Gibraltar. Spanglish is my language too. I’m fully fluent in both languages but I feel most comfortable around people that speak Spanglish. Definitivamente me tengo que mudar a Gibraltar. No soy de Gibraltar pero Llanito es mi idioma también. Soy fluente en los dos idiomas. Pero me siento más cómodo cuando hablo con alguien que sepa los dos y tengan esa fluidez de cambiar y mixturar ambos.

@@jggrskate94 en toda España, se habla español, y en toda hispanoamerica, también, solo que cada región e incluso ciudad se habla distinto.

El señor que lleva la boina tiene más acento español que el otro señor cuando habla inglés, pero a ambos se les agrada escuchar. 😊 So glad their message comes across in both languages.

sí, es un poco confuso. Gibraltar es, obviamente, históricamente una mezcla de áfrica del norte, españa y luego británico. Como dijo el hombre en el video, nació en Inglaterra, porque su madre evacuó allí durante la guerra 2. Como puede ver, Gran Bretaña cuida a sus ciudadanos en su mayor parte.

Esto me recuerda un poco al chavacano que se habla en algunos lugares de Filipinas que es una mezcla de castellano con alguno de los idiomas locales. This reminds to the "chavacano" spoken in the Philipines. It's a similar mix between two different languages.

I was thinking of moving to Puerto Rico as an English speaking person learning Spanish but now Gibraltar is another option 🤩
