Things always seem better in our formative years. Everyone through all time says, "things were better when I was young". Especially in the modern age. Not only are you physically or mentally getting to the point where you're a conscious person, but also you probably didn't have a job or bills or kids. So it probably was the best time for you and that includes music and movies. If you were coming of age in the 50's, that would be the best, and so on.
