Boney Mwas my sister Maxine’s favorite group back in the seventies and eighties. Sadly she passed away in 2005. It was during my times if missing her Boney M came to my heart. Most beautiful music. Liz Mitchell you are amazing. Great gift from God. Continue to prosper. Love to the others. I know Bobby Farrell us gone but will never b forgotten. Such an inspiration.

I love these songs by Boney M. It is sad the story of the producer Frank Farian, who created the group in order to sell records, since his own pop career was struggling. He then hired Bobby Farrell to serve as his front man, pretending to sing his parts. Farian went on to produce Milli Vanilli. The highlights of his career are two big lies that involve lip-synching and fakery. Liz Mitchell is a talented singer and when you listen to Boney M, she is clearly the best singer in the group. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the music and the lip-synching aspect, we are hard-pressed to find public performances from the Boney M time that are not lip-synched. I am a fan of that music. It is unfortunate that producers of that time felt that it was better to have someone pretend to be the singer on an album so that all the musicians would be black I guess? Regardless the songs are good and will live on. Even a lot of Milli Vanilli's music was very good. In my mind though, Liz is the real Boney M. When I think of Boney M, I think of her singing the lead line. The male line is usually some sort of bridge or segueway section. Liz carried that group and was the centerpiece of it. Thank you, Liz, for re-performing this great music live for us to enjoy.

I feel so bad watching Liz Mitchell always singing only BoneyM hit songs and covers of other artiste hits songs without coming up with her own original new materials. Even the sound and quality of her voice has fades with each passing year. It portrays her as someone who just had a flash of the pan kind of success coupled with nothing but pure luck and an unexpected opportunity. Where is her star quality? She has become overweight, doesn't show up in elegant costumes suited for a diva or even a legend. No good make up as she used to be seen. Forgive me while reading this. I know it's a harsh critique. My feelings are aroused from a place of love and concern that she is allowing certain things career-wise get to her.

She's in her late 60's, her voice has dropped with age and she almost certainly suffered vocal damage before that. I think she looks great for her age, a lot of women put on weight as they get older.

Dull, toned down versions of classic songs that she cannot sing anymore. Just about anyone could go into a studio and have musicians changing the key to make them sound acceptable and this is just about acceptable and in tune, it is NOT the work of an amazing singer by any stretch of the imagination. Liz's live performances are appalling and have only got worse over the years. It is actually an abomination of a classic label/concept. Being the main singer on most of the hits back in the day, is not enough to impress everyone now, especially when she is incapable of reproducing that sound onstage and hasn't been for a very long time. To have retired gracefully years ago would have been far more dignified
