I've had this, along with like seven other Keenler vids, in my drafts for ages but after 8x22 I just refused to edit them in some kind of one person protest. I've been a mess ever since that episode and with season 9 coming up I'm constantly going back and fourth between just being my usual Keenler trash self and absolutely fucking hating the show.
I've shipped them since the start and they deserved so much better. I always say that about my ships but I love sad stuff and usually just masochistically enjoy watching my ships break apart. But this is so very different, I 100% mean it, and not just because they did Keenler dirty but because what they did to Liz. She has been treated like shit for eight seasons and then they kill her off, leaving her daughter an orphan, and never getting the answers she's been looking for her entire life. If they try to portray Liz's death as some kind of noble sacrifice, I'm done for good with this show. And is Ressler watching another girlfriend bleed out on the street supposed to be some kind of poetical sad parallel? It's just cruel.
Honestly though, I'm still very delusionally holding out hope that she faked her death again and that Megan will be back for the series finale. Anyways, if you have thoughts on Keenler or The Blacklist, I would love to discuss.
