I think this generation RS3 (and the A3/S3) will go down as one of the best looking cars. The RS3 in particular just looks so beastly. Those Jordans are sick by the way.

Mate that interior is fine it always happens from the grease and oils from our skin it just needs a bit of APC and a microfiber give it a scrub and clean and it will come out like new . Same with the steering wheel you’ll be amazed how it looks brand new afterwards.

My S3 (same colour ❤) is also a gr8 everyday car. I just put my Winter wheels on which is helping with traction..the 19 inch Pirelli's are great above 10 degrees..but useless below! Like you I find the tech lovely to use..this morning the map showed me a few red roads (hold ups) so I was easily able to take a quick detour and avoid the jams.👍🏻 My car also has the matrix LED's which are by far the best headlights I've ever had on a car and make overtaking cars on unlit roads a breeze as they light up the road around the car in front. I have the same seats and they are great on a long journey. My only gripes are that... 1/ Every now and then the map goes off googlemaps and reverts to standard. 2/ Sometimes the steering wheel button forgets it's set for 'Drive Select' and I have to quickly reset it. Both these gripes are known software 'features' and it's frustrating that Audi have not corrected them in a software update. I look forward to the next video. Happy new year Dan.👍🏻

Thanks for watching Douglas! Weirdly, I haven't had any software issues with the car (yet!) does your car have the same MMI version as mine or is it the newest one?

Mr Daniel Knight Hi, my car is a December 17 car (67 plate)..it's actualy the Audi press car used on the Car Wow KZread Vids (and a few others). Not sure of the MMI version...do you know how to find this info..if so, I'll have a look and reply. Regards Doug P.S. I did hear Pete from Petrolped say that his S4 quite often dumps googlemaps so it obviously enjoys the same 'feature'. 🙄😁

Douglas B. Hey mate, i had the same problem with the drive select button in my 18’ S3 Sedan. It simply did not respond sometines and didn‘t changed the driving mode from example comfort-> dynamic etc.. i went to the dealership and they told me that there‘s a tpi (technical product information) for that Problem. They did a short software update and now the drive select case is closed and it works as its supposed to without failure. Just visit your local audi Dealer. The update is free 👍✌️

I’ve had my RS3 for 4 months now and do wonder if this is the car I keep for a good few years, there’s not much else out there for the money as you say. The last car I kept for a long while was a Golf GTi Edition 30, such a great car and had it for 5 years, even my S3 saloon and S4 Avant only lasted 2 years each! The RS3 looks great, more than enough performance and such a lovely interior. Would like to think I can keep it looking mint and cherish the little beast for years to come!

Whatever you do don’t use a magic eraser on the wheel or seats. Just use some water wipes. Find them with baby wipes in the supermarkets. They are wipes with only water. No aloe or anything else and will lift the dirt right out. Magic eraser is a fine abrasive and will make the wheel appear clean as it roughs up the surface to be matt again, but you’re actually taking off the leather lacquer. Trust me, I’ve tried many things over the years and have ended up HAVING to have wheels refurbed after using magic eraser!

RS3 are still strong money on the used market hence why I have not jumped in one yet. Ive just got an ex demo renaultsport megane fully loaded on spec with just 650 miles for less than any UK used RS3 (2016> none CAT registered) I know it's no Audi (although Alcantara interior in the Renault is pretty nice) I have to say though the wide body on the Megane makes an RS3 look narrow.

I don’t think you can buy a better car of its type for the money, even left standard it’s a superb car, the entire package is superb All the fannies going on about understeer etc, well newsflash it’s not the first powerful car to understeer, the facelift cars are supposed to be improved than the original? Not sure that’s really that noticeable to be fair Mines 4 years old now and it’s superb, you can either drive it in comfort and it’s a sensible family car, or use it dynamic and it’s a different animal all together As for the steering wheel, if you use a decent interior cleanser from the likes of Autofinesse and use a clean micro fibre to clean all the dirt and skin off the Alcantara and then use a rubber suede brush to bring the pile back it will look as new again

RS3's and squealing brakes is standard on 8P and 8V/fl, change to EBC Redstuff's. As for squealing ceramics, only happens on first one or two applications of the pedal when they are cold and wet, after that zero issues and those that cite the horrendous costs of replacement parts, my car is at 85k miles and the ceramic discs and pads are 22% worn. Most RS owners have gone through 3 sets of steels by that point and the ceramics are so much better than Audi's RS Brembo set up. As for an RS6, go for a C7, prices will start to drop further soon enough and decent spec early C7's can now be had for the same price as a new non-optioned S3 and nearing the bottom of their depreciation curve.

Prefer Ferodo DS Performance or DS2500 myself. I've got DS2500 on my 8V. Tried red stuff on my 8P and they seemed to overhead my discs when pushing on. They were good for not creating too much dust though!

I think most of us knew from the off there wasn't ever gonna be an RS6. You'd need to sit down with a stiff whiskey at the cost of the special brake pads for the ceramic discs, it would be you doing the squealing. That coffee was strong but it worked before putting ink on the dotted line! Why not be more realistic and try make the 2020 RS4 your goal.
