When he said that his wife is a fish in his fish tank clearly say that his wife is his possession. If he can't control his anger lo and behold it may evolve into a more violent behavior. So glad that the wife went to hello counselor. If I am the wife I will try to seek help/ intervention with proper authorities before its too late.

Unfortunately, Korea is still a predominantly patriarchal society, and many women choose not to divorce due to societal pressures and court decisions that would disfavor them. The concept of child support is shoddily enforced and most women wouldn't see a dime from their husbands, all the while finding it difficult to procure a job after being out of the workforce for so long. Not to mention having one of the highest gender income disparities compared to other first world countries.

What Seokcheon said is right. He was so mad that he broke the television, but in reality, he wanted to beat his wife. Domestic violence is not just physical abuse. It can be verbal abuse, manipulation, and many other things. I hope this man got some counseling or that the wife was able to separate from him because she and her kids do not deserve this type of life.

I can't agree more! Honestly, men like that disgust me. Plus, he even said that he suppressed his true personality while courting her because he wanted a "Busan woman," if that doesn't say anything about his personality I don't know what does. The lady definitely didn't sign up for that kind of life when she agreed to marry him. It really makes me worried about marriage on a personal note.

Throughout watching this I got more and more scared that soon he'll start physically abusing her...this just isn't right, this mental abuse is just disgusting

Sometimes the concern on this show aren't public consumption for reality show, it needs to be solved very seriously by authorities, i see a lot of mental abusive, severe obsession, and weirdly behavior that could damage other people mental state or even physically, and people who did that doesn't even aware of their behavior and felt nothing wrong about it.

I can't help but to think like he's putting the blame on his children. Just because other people are doing it, and just because their kids didn't mimic them, it doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do.

The fact that he hid his true self when he was wooing her is enough of a red flag. He himself knows there are unlikeable parts in him. He deceived the poor woman.

This hit me so, so deep. I grew up with a dad exactly like him, and a mom just like her, who wanted nothing but to protect my brother and I. This is a serious kind of abuse, yet it's so deeply ingrained in Korean society, and the moms are never given a voice. I pray they find help, and especially for those beautiful sons--those scars stick with you forever.

This is more than just having a job and pretty face. I read a comment in South Korea, as long as he didn't hit her, she can't file a divorce and she may not be able to get her kids. If this is true, then this might be the reason why. If she leaves just like that with her kids, the husband can file a report and her kids may be taken away from her. Plus, she might think that the effect of divorce might be worse for the kids rather then living with abusive father. Sure she has a job, but will it be enough for her alone to take care of her kids? Not to mention for them, women carries the burden of bad marriages. The 132 votes already say a lot. But if thing stays the same or get worse, I do hope she find the courage to leave him.

The problem is that in Korean society, as long as he doesn't hit her, she can't file for divorce AND get her children. She can divorce him, but Emotional abuse isn't enough for her to get her children too. Which is sad. So even if she leaves, he could sue for custody, probably win and then the children would be stuck with a father like that.

What disturbs me the most is that he broke the TV. It shows that he doesn't have enough control of his anger and felt the desire to break something. To me that sounds like a clear red flag for abuse. Even if he never touches her, breaking things like that in itself is abuse. It's like a threat or scare tactic to force her into submission. This guy is really scary to me. I'm worried what will happen to her after this show. :(

this is textbook abusive behavior, everything he says from how he speaks to her to his reasons for being violent and abusive are excuses. people with abusive parents aren’t always abusive, people go through financial hardships all the time and they don’t treat their spouses that way either. he’s isolating her too, they live in HIS hometown and she doesn’t have work friends or know anyone bc of the situations he’s put her in, he’s literally making himself the only person she can rely bc that’ll make it harder for her to leave him, especially with the kids. he also tells her to shut up and shuts her down when she wants to talk, and then places the blame on her for being too busy to talk when she’s literally doing everything at home AND also has a job. he’s a performer too, the wife said so herself “everyone else likes him” and it’s bc he’s only like that w her, bc it cuts her down and helps him maintain power over, he likes feeling superior. Also it was super fucked up that he lied to her from the beginning?? that’s just straight up psychological abuse lying about his personality only to immediately change after the wedding, he didn’t even hesitate, just bc she’s from a city doesn’t give him the right to act like that. honestly, what a fool and i hope he eventually sees a psychologist, for her sake.

The sad thing is there are a lot of men and women from all over the world who are like this. They act completely different from their true selves when dating so they can get the guy or girl. O.OX I don't like how does her husband act that ways to his wife and son. One thing is, when they were in long distance relationship...it wasn't good idea because they were video chat everyday and as couple for a year before they get marry. I would rather divorce him right away...

With respect to the husband, It is not good to being strict to your kids, nagging to your kids many times, in unnecessary moments. It makes us lose our love towards you. It hurts your kids' pride. It decreases your kids' confidence. Nobody want to hear a high-tone voice or gibberish sentence, not-so-motivating words in our 'sacred team'. Just act like a gentle person, teach us how to respectable person, evaluate us without nagging tone, respect your kids as live matter. We need a home, a family, a manner, a knowledges. Not only a house, food, beverages, drink, money, everything.

From what I've heard so far, it sounds like he'll start to get physically abusive sooner or later. The kid is so adorable. I hope he doesnt become like his dad.

The wife is so strong, I even can't be in the same room with him I'd got once a friend, a work friend, who is really verbally abusive to me and my younger female friend,he always screamed and insulted us everyday and said that we are rubbish,useless,idiot,slow,b*tch..he never helped us when it comes to a heavywork such as lifting and moving big boxes full of documents,and you know what he said to the superiors when they warned him?he said,"they are weak women and have the same position and salary,even one of them has lower than mine,there is no use to help them." Imagine how we felt at that time,i mean,he is the only man in my department and he thought that we were his slave..he always said that women should under men's feet and why women blame men for that, he mocked us to other department people,he insulted us in front of the superiors,and he even blame us for his own mistakes and even for other department mistakes..and we got that for a whole year... Luckyly he is not in my office anymore and I'm moving now to the central office, but it's really hurt and I have to go to psychologist to heal my trauma and to get my self-esteem that had been crushed, I even take a distance to men in my new office and afraid of men now.. Also, I can't imagine how if my friend,his soon-to-be-wife, will react once she knows his bad habit after they married,me and my female friend can't say anything to her because she and her gang will think that we try to badmouth him,so we just stay silent about it..

i can’t even imagine how hard is this for their kids

I'm watching this just now and I hope she is safe rn...he is scary and I legit felt scared the way he was talking about her..."My family business isn't hers" how can he say that? She married him for God's sake! She automatically is included in every family matter! I've seen some of my elders speaking to mom this way asking her not to interfere and it really gets to me
