Had my 2008 A8L for 7 years. Bought with 74k mikes on it. Now has 260k miles. Interior surpasses most cars I’ve ever experienced except Bentley Continental GT. Car still rides better than many new cars. Amazing highway cruiser.

Can you tell any major and minor known faults of The D3
@sullivanjohnson6392
Жыл бұрын
@@gdt9798 The D3 is a gorgeous car but requires sticking with maintenance schedule. The air suspension can be problematic after 75K miles or so. These air struts can easily run $1200 a piece. Expect to have to replace one or two during ownership. They typically go bad more in the front than the rear struts. Upper and lower control arms will go bad after 30K mikes or so. Front end suspension components need to be checked regularly. MMI module can be problematic ( stuck screen) and the flow of air in the interior air vents can be spotty at times. Overall a great road car but expect pricey repair bills on higher mileage cars.

I had mine for 5+ years and used as my daily. Phenomenal car. Also had mine mapped for 400hp. Couldn’t fault it in any way. In my 5 years I never had one problem with no major expenses other than servicing etc. Unfortunately my timing went last year and was quoted £3k just to take the engine out with a possibility that they may not be able to fix it so decided to bite the bullet and scrapped it for £2k. I bought mine at 70k Miles for £6k and ran it upto 156k miles before timing went. Still the best, used daily driver I’ve had. As for the power, it felt as quick as my old 2008 S63 and my new SQ7 given its age and size it really was an exceptional car and I miss it dearly.

I agree with you my friend totally, I own a 2008 A8L and have owned it since about August 2007. Over the years my the car has held mechanically GREAT....I have had no major and rarely minor issues with the car. After 11 yrs I had to replace the front suspension but did all 4 , very expensive but very worth it. My favorite car for the same reason....there is nothing that can take the place of it.... absolutely NOTHING!🙏🏿

I have now a Audi S8 Plus D4 2016 since June 2017. No problems, very satisfying indeed. Previously I had the earlier Audi A8L W12 D3. Also a great car. Sold it when it got to 100,000 miles. I love both of them. Great cars to own and drive. In between I had a Maserati Quattroporte- big mistake. I would never buy another Maserati- lots of silly design problems. Not a lot of fun to drive, skittish handling. Wastes the expensive Pirelli tyres, £3000 service bill. Very expensive, I lost a lot of money on it. Doug Demuro on KZread sums up Maseratis as all show no go. Cheap interiors, poor Chevy parts, very lousy ergonomics. I was glad to get rid of it after less than a year ownership. Badge image for posers, which I am not. Far less that expected. A joke compared to BMW and AUDI. BTW I had a BMW 640i Grand Coupe diesel. Also a lovely car, up to 60 mpg on long runs, very nice to drive, loved it. Sold it when it got to 80,000 miles. Take my advice, avoid the Quattroporte, or you'll regret it. I am keeping the Audi S8 plus for the foreseeable future. Dr David Whitaker
