I have had ADHD and high functioning Asperger's all of my life. I've been to doctors as long as I can remember, studied, tested and was an early recipient of Ritalin which led to drug and alcohol abuse. Dr Chopra's teachings were the only thing that enabled me to slow down, concentrate, meditate and achieve something like real serenity in an otherwise chaotic existence. Because of his teachings as well as maturing somewhat, I was able to finish college when I was 35, achieve a degree and become a better functioning member of society. They were as much a guide and an aid as light in a dark room. They weren't the whole solution but a very profound part.

I love Deepak Chopra, but his monotone voice puts me to sleep at times. I realize its not about how he's talking, but what he's talking about. His messages always resonate with me, but I just can't seem to shake falling asleep after a while of listening to his voice.

I know what your saying! 10 years ago I tried listening to him, and I just couldn’t understand. I started reading the Power of Now, by, Eckart Tolle. ( He’s also on u tube). After following him for a while I understood deepack choppa. Hope that helps you. Life is a journey, you will understand when the time is right for you.

As opposed to superstitions, religions are based on knowledge, whether learned or inherent and are believed for those reasons. Superstitions are not based on any knowledge and are believed for no reason.

His idea of the development of an embryo as a representation of the theory of evolution has been disproved by scientists already. I enjoy most of his teaching but he is disproved scientifically on that point

only poor people can be enlightened in your beliefs? i know many many extremely poor people who are truly diabolical. that's the biggest scam there is... that poor is good and rich is bad. same scam as it's opposite that poor is bad and rich is good. they are no different. they both have nothing to do with higher consciousness in which you could experience wealth or poverty either way. the scam is, that billions of people like you believe the poor are noble and the rich are evil and so it creates a world in which that comes to pass. so how much good could be done in the world if those wise, noble poor people were in positions in of power and had the means (money at this time in history) to do those wise and noble things. if you're so wise then having money won't harm you... it will allow you to do more good. if you're not wise or honorable, it doesn't matter if you're poor or wealthy. you'll still be base and low.

I used to love Deepak Chopra, I bought one of his books and I was just excited to learn more about his thoughts and teaching. However, now I have issues with Deepak Chopra, because spiritual leaders like himself should keep out of politics. When he inserted himself into the political debate by telling President Trump to "“please submit to a psychiatric and neurological evaluation to restore our confidence.” It really bugged me because true "masters" or spiritual leaders would never do that. True spiritualists do not insert themselves into politics or seek the limelight, in actuality they shun it and stay away from it. Why affect the lives of many by negatively deriding their leader or in this case President Trump? It just doesn't make sense, because now people are upset and it affects them negatively in many ways including their Karma. So their negativity is related to Deepak Chopra and his words, which in turn affect everyone else. So I wish these new age so called "gurus" stay away from politics.

Yeah, it is also the reason why Deepak Chopra does NOT acknowledge his "vedic" source of knowledge and wisdom as "hindu". His urge to equate "Jesus" and hindu avatar god "Krishna" is also unacceptable. Calling "Cosmic consciousness" as "Christ" consciousness is nothing but catering to his western audience

He specifically mentioned Hindu/Vedic sources which he claims is more advanced than modern science, yet he hasn't cited those sources or explained why he thinks it's more advanced. Regardless of personal belief, I don't think that's the answer that he had in mind. Something I find a little bit odd, however, is that I've seen Deepak cite quantum physics as evidence that what he says is true, which is definitely in line with modern science. The conclusions he makes about quantum physics are plainly false, but nevertheless it would be disingenuous to say that all his knowledge comes from Hindu/Vedic sources.

if you enjoy this stuff and would like to hear how it sounds when not being misrepresented to a ridiculous degree, there is plenty of alan watts or j. krishnamurti content on youtube. deepak chopra speaks in cliches, buzzwords, and catchphrases. every now and then there is a small sprinkle of insight from him, but the rest of it just makes me embarrassed for him lol. he's so far out and thinks he's so far in. and the way he acts like he's in on some big secret is totally off-putting and pious
