At first I was pretty sad, maybe even little upset that such a beautiful place will no longer be available too me, telling myself with each closing of memories "surely I'll be able to restore this place" I've since grown to appreciate and understand their decision. Yes I can ng+ it but I now feel like I shouldn't

I'm reminded of Don Draper's speech about Nostalgia: “Nostalgia - its delicate, but potent. Teddy told me that in Greek nostalgia literally means “the pain from an old wound.” It’s a twinge in your heart far more powerful than memory alone. This device isn’t a spaceship, it’s a time machine. It goes backwards, and forwards… it takes us to a place where we ache to go again. It’s not called the wheel, it’s called the carousel. It let’s us travel the way a child travels - around and around, and back home again, to a place where we know are loved.”

Was accompanying friend in this place, i already finished msq and he just arrived in this area. He said the view is incredibly beautiful, while i can only give a smile because what we currently see is different. I said to him to enjoy the moment while he still can. Seeing this area post msq feels like a lingering regrets as well and a reminder to spend your time with your loved one, cherish it, appreciate the moment while they still here with you.

I'm rather obsessed with this place while Fate Grinding. It's like some form of mix with Amaurot, Ultima Thule and Nier. The absence of life and color entirely after the facade is shut down forever is such a unique melancholy opposite from Ultima Thule that I quite enjoy for some odd reason. Especially since it's a reflection that's entirely dead. It's not some small virtual pocket existing on its own, it's literally just the small remains of a dead world and when the sun rose above its now silent, dormant imitation of a city did that fact become more floor and haunting. The concept of how it recently operated also reminds me of a short anime film from 1995 called Magnetic Rose. I recommend looking it up. This place fascinates me and wasn't what I expected from Dawntrail at all.

Absolutely true. The facades of Amaurot, the feeling of a civilization gone and passed Ultima Thule offers, and the fact that the sky is normal, like nothing ever happened, like all is right in the world, just makes it worse. People lived here, and they are gone. Yet the world keeps on going, as it always did.

I hadn't thought it like that, where the reflection is dead. I assumed that there was a small living group from it like there was in the First who survived the flood of light, but if this small group is technically "merged" with the Source now, then the reflection itself is dead and devoid of life. How eerie. Fascinating storytelling and I thoroughly enjoy lore on other reflections, so glad it made a prominent role. It kind of reminds me of Fallout, how we venture out from our safe haven of vaults only to find out the story of other, less fortunate vaults. This kind of gives that same vibe but with reflections.

i think this is also a reminder to us players, to stop comparing this expansion to what happend before. DT was not suposed to be bigger and greater then EW, a story that was 10 years in the making. ARR was also not a Storytelling Masterpiece but look where it leaded us too. Every Story has to start somewhere. We are now on a new journey, with new adventures, new friends, new enemy's and possibility's. "let it go" don't be sad its over, be glad it happened.

@@chelsthegameruiner8669 Yes as soon as I saw that crown pop up.. I knew something big will happen. It's Chekhovs gun waiting to be fired. I am really intrigued, is Sphene alive (her original backup inside the crown, as the sphene we met and fought was a tailored version as Cahciua said)? Is data inside the crown that will give us more information about their shard or something? Will we go there eventually? Maybe it was just a neat little "scene", but I believe there will be more to it. It's also interesting to see how the sky clears up, maybe it's hinting as others have said that their world is not completely destroyed or fully covered in thunderstorms after all and Alexandria dwelled for too long in isolation in their protective bubble. Was it even deliberate? I think something like this would have potential. It's also still unclear what is the status of Alexandrias shard, cuz it's implied that it has been rejoined (by ascians meddling?) but not outright confimed yet. There are things pointing in the other direction as well, who even build the portal to the city of gold? What's the connection between that shard and the source? To me it seems there is still a lot to come and I cant wait as I find the whole concept of Alexandria etc really fascinating.

I know. One of my biggest gripes with this storyline was how Dynamis could literally save them. Its much more powerful, much more plentiful, and produced by feelings and thoughts. The Endless had nothing else. If the Loporits could remake a new star out of Dynamis and repopulate six extinct species with it, it can definitely keep the Living Memory systems going. And if each individual Endless could be made to produce enough Dynamis to keep they themselves going, then between that, Sphene, and the occasional memory service in Solution Nine to drum up sentiment you could make something sustainable. But no, Scions had to forget Dynamis exists because it would offer too clean a solution.

  • @Loyd64

@DenarianLord the issue there is we don't know if memory is enough to produce/sustain dynamis. The other issue is that sphene never really gave us a chance to work it out. Had sphene relented and engaged in open dialogue, I am pretty sure the subject of dynamis would have been brought up as a potential solution. The problem is that, the scions were never going to let her or Zorral Ja know while they were a potential enemy faction. The last thing we needed was giving a High tech enemy faction access to even better energy production. I honestly believe Had she not been programmed in such a way, or at least tried to talk to us more, dynamis being a solution would have been talked about and explored

Just as a word of advice, but you may wanna edit the name of your video and put up a less spoilery thumbnail, especially since the expansion isn't even a week old yet. KZread is apparently recommending this video to some ff14 players and it's gonna suck if this spoils the final zone.

@@fruit5176I think you can say "Final area 2nd theme", and put a generic thumbnail that doesn't show abything for now, could be just like a promo artwork for Dawntrail.

@@fruit5176 Use promo art for Dawntrail or even just the expansion's logo IMO. And Changing the name to something like "Dawntrail Final Zone theme (POST MSQ)" would help ward off thumbnail spoilering

I can't wait until the devs come up with some BS reason to restore this zone and bring back all the endless because they found some technology that permits a loophole in the aetherial flow that can sustain them for a natural lifespan going forward or some other such nonsense.😅

The Warrior of Light really went "I do not consider you to be truly alive. Ergo, I will not be guilty of murder if I kill you." and then turned off an entire race to save our own. Guess we really *are* walking the path Emet-Selch wanted us to.
