I love both cities too--lived in SF for 9 years and living in SD for 2 years. SF: amazing transit system, city wine walks (miss those), Folsom Street Foundry (game nights) and many venue bars, more street smart and thick-skin people (not fickle), Golden Gate Park, more walkable nightly events in general and Rainbow Grocery SD: amazing weather, beaches, vibrant food scene, hiking spots, close to LA and MX, cleaner streets in general, stable economy (biotech, defense and healthcare), progressive green urban development and policies, lots of high profile breweries, cheaper rent, better EDM festival scene, Balboa Park (it's like its own frickin country), Comic Con, TwitchCon and O.B. People's Organic Food Market.

Excellent video. You are on point with the comparison between SD and SF. I lived in the Bay Area for almost 45 years and moved to SD 7 years ago. It took me awhile to adjust and adapt to the lack of diversity in food choices. Public transportation is lacking in SD. After being in SD for 7 years now, I am loving the more relaxed lifestyle, more courteous drivers on the road, and most of all the weather.

San Francisco and San Diego are both great cities in different ways. San Francisco is more bustling. It's a strong mix between a condensed cosmopolitan city and a city which loves its parks and nature. San Diego has better weather, nicer beaches, is far cleaner and far safer. I feel so relaxed whenever I visit San Diego. But there is definitely more to do and see in San Francisco. That being said, the crime rate in San Francisco is truly bad. Nearly everyone I know have had their cars broken into, homes burglarized or been mugged at some point. I worked downtown San Francisco for 5 years. It was exciting, fun, frustrating and at times, scary.

I’d love to see a comparison of San Diego County Vs Bay Area as a whole. For example, 35 minutes from San Francisco today I’m finding homes, beautiful homes. Under $600,000 while there isn’t anything 35 minutes from San Diego which is anywhere near that price.

Also, in the Bay Area you have 3 major airports to choose from. And 4 major cities to choose from. Airports: San Jose, Oakland, SF. Cities: Berkeley, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose. While in San Diego you have 1 airport buttt you do gain Tijuana and that airport for travel as well. Job opportunities in the Bay Area…way more. That’s why I’d like a comparison that would be SF 40 mile radius vs San Diego 40 mile radius. San Diego loses the radius because 40 miles south doesn’t exist because that’s Mexico, 40 miles north gets you to Riverside county, 40 miles east is desert area with nothing. But, in the Bay, a 40 mile radius still keeps you in the Bay Area generally speaking. Antioch/Bay Point etc, Hayward, Santa Cruz, all Bay Area areas of course. SF wins.

Lordy, this video presentation is lopsidedly wrong. First, stay in crampy S.F. Next, believe it not, in the next few years, San Diego "FIGHTERTOWN, U.S.A." is replacing S.F. in many categories including technology, bio-sciences, housing and land values (prices are going to skyrocket), and shall keep the title as "America's Finest City." In about 3 - 5 years, downtown (all the districts) is getting a fresh look to look absolutely gorgeous! Seaport Village, Embarcadero, and East Village! Let us compare the transportation system to Hong Kong, and never to filthy unkempt BART. I tossed my car two years ago and have no difficulties using magnificent Trolleys, MTS, Amtrak, Coaster, Sprinter, NCTD, and Breeze. Metrolink to Los Angeles is another option to get back and forth. To add more spice, San Diego is adding bicycle lanes, but try riding a bicycle with kids around hilly downtown S.F. without getting mugged, jumped, or run over. Finally, on my last visit, the homelessness, pins, needles, and crap spewed on the streets is out of control 😳 in San Francisco. UPDATE: I just reviewed another one of your videos. Now, that you're in San Diego, WELCOME HOME! I am thrilled about the decision to raise your children in San Diego. Take them to Old Town. Invest a day with them at the San Diego Maritime Museum and USS Midway. Take care!
